  1. Can you actually make this case, though? I mean, I know you can, but can you make it coherently for any position other than DT? Of the non-DT commits elsewhere, I can't think of a real miss this cycle other than maybe Armstrong and eventually Anding. Otherwise, we've been intentionally passing on NIL requirements or passing in favor of other prospects. I like Pettijohn a lot, but they prioritized Faraimo. The staff does not like Jonah Williams as a prospect and we never actually offered Russell. We circled back on Rogers after Fasusi showed his ass and will work from behind. Could we have kept him warmer? Sure, but there wasn't much time there. Brew and Moore fall into the unwilling to match the fuckducks category. And I can disagree with any/all of it, but my disagreement re: eval and prioritization doesn't make it a miss. DT, I agree. That's all fuck up.
  2. Looks like we've turned a longshot into our best shot at a strong 3 lb class, pending late risers and are awaiting more bad news that probably isn't Brooks. Townsend comes to mind, and if so, hopefully the pushed announcement ends up in our favor. I'm not going to get worked up over this class at all with what's in the building, but it sure would be nice to know we're not actively stomping our own dicks in recruiting. When Sark fucks up, they're almost always unforced errors (late game play calling, recruiting staff losses and backfills, retaining Joseph, almost hiring Stoops, etc) and the "culture" content gets pretty fucking old when all this validation of the HC hides the fact that in reality, ego is winning out.
  3. I was responding to the allusion that the size of 2000's era USC linebackers was a positive, but I looked it up and these are surprisingly more in line with the modern linebacker than I had thought. The skills that made them high draft picks were a little different, but the size is about the same. Draft measurables Lofa Tatupu: 5'11, 238 - 4.8 40yd Keith Rivers: 6'2, 241 - 4.54 40yd Brian Cushing: 6'2, 243 - 4.64 40yd Clay Matthews: 6'2 240 - 4.67 40yd Rey Maualuga: 6'1, 249 - 4.58 40yd Faraimo is currently listed at 6'3, 225 on on3 and 230 on 247. Biggins scouting report had him at 215 in January. I'm no expert on the growing juvenile body, but he looks like a future DE to me.
  4. Linebackers that size haven't been relevant since Furbies
  5. Yes. And it was strike 3, no less.
  6. Thaaaaaaaaaaat's a big one. He was at one point the #1 recruit in 2025. Idk whether he'll make it to campus but HS MLB draft prospect info is mostly gated and hard to come by. "Bye aggy"
  7. Yeah, every time Gerry addresses this he gives a big sigh and basically says baseball isn't the only reason Texas wasn't recruiting him
  8. "Act like you've been here before" never lands because none of them ever have
  9. "Schloßenfreude: The aggy screenshot megathread"
  10. If this includes passing on Pettijohn in favor of Faraimo, I might stroke out.
  11. Erin Hogan says Tulo's coming back?
  12. Nothing too interesting other than finding out Gorney is a grimey little fuck
  13. At risk of gouging my own eyes out with a spoon, I was curious who the DLs were that actually logged snaps in Sark's last year at Alabama when they won the national championship. This list includes NT/DT/SDE as their front is similar to ours. D.J. Dale - 4* (91), 12 games as a sophomore , then: UDFA Tim Smith - 5* (98), 8 games as a Freshman, now: 5th year Sr, projected starter Justin Eboigbe - 4* (95) - 12 games as a sophomore, then: 4th rd Christian Barmore - 4* (92) - 12 games as a sophomore, then: 2nd rd Phidarian Mathis - 4* (92) - 12 games as a junior, then: 2nd rd There's a case to be made (I'm not making it) that Sark intentionally deprioritizes DT because he watched a group of low 4*s + Tim get developed into a national champion DL and draftable NFL prospects. I think that's the wrong takeaway, but it's not a wild notion.
  14. 2017: Jimbo Fisher hired '18-'20 record: 26-10 2021: Extended Extension dollars/win: $865,384 2021 - Burnt Vegetables hired '22-'23 record: 16-10 2023: Extended Extension dollars/win: $906,250 This extension is basically Herman's 2019 extension minus the Sugar Bowl win justification, yet somehow worse than what aggy did
  15. Saw him called Burnt Vegetables recently and I'm 1000% sure that I'll never use his real name again
  16. But that's never worked. And, no, Preston Stone is not an example of it working. There's only one guy who we really missed on that ended up there, 3* S Isaiah Nwokobia What has worked is being the fallback school for busted transfers and high probability high school busts like Camar Wheaton, LJ Johnson, David Abiara, Omari Abor, Savion Byrd, PJ Williams, and Jordan Hudson.
  17. Razoo's? There used to be one on 35 by the other shitty regional cuisine chains.
  18. Mehhhhhhhhhhhh.... SMU is an ACC team with a good recruiting staff that had a committed QB in the Elite 11 finals until Russell was poached by Alabama. Idk that grabbing an SMU commit is as much of a reach today as it was a couple years ago.
