  1. Maybe I can make my point more clearly. Ethan Burke, the 6'7 DE prospect, was also a D1 lacrosse prospect and was at one point committed to Maryland to play lacrosse. Maryland is a top 10 program. To garner multiple, committable, D1 offers in two different sports is more indicative of athleticism than skill. To take it a step further, guys who are 6'7 would need to be exceptionally athletic to succeed at a high level. You argued that Tapp is the best athlete we recruited on the DL and all you've done is shit on lacrosse as a barometer of athleticism for Burke. I've yet to hear you defend your actual argument.
  2. To be clear, you're taking the position that J'Mond Tapp is more athletic than Ethan Burke? Straight up?
  3. They've also compared his motor, consistent technique, and play strength to Byron Murphy. Those are the floor setting traits that got him on the field early, and why they expect Finkley will as well, especially given the need.
  4. If that’s true, I bet they get him. To @quigley’s point, the stated intent is to get him ready for the NFL and no one has been better than Burrow since Mahomes after a year of sitting. Speaks to motivation, otherwise.
  5. “We got Brent Venables and we love that guy! HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE THAT GUY!?”
  6. I would have said Ole Miss as well, but I'd be afraid of Kiffin bolting next offseason. You know they don't want to get burned twice. I'd watch pedo st, too.
  7. I think it will be a real challenge for blOU fans to separate the impact of Riley's departure from the colossal shift in recruiting. CW entering the portal is indicative of both, but the latter is why he's definitely gone.
  8. Nope. Luke sucks at football, but he came to Texas as a walk-on and earned a starting gig. That speaks to how shitty TH and TO recruited and developed actual linebacker athletes, not to what Luke has done with his shitty skillset. Fuck Blake and the twins, but not Luke.
  9. Stupid, yes, but releasing a statement on the trajectory of the football program is more understandable than begging a single player not to leave on university letterhead.
  10. Hahhahhahahahahahhahahahahahaha Have an AD/HC ever put out a fucking statement in response to a player entering the portal? This is nearly unbelievable.
  11. Can't play the Texas is racist card from Norman.
  12. ESPN as a stand alone recruiting source is hot garbage. Use the on3 or 247 consensus, the former being more equally weighted and the latter being the more referenced standard.
  13. No. Ewers and Williams are/were in the 'same class'. If the logic doesn't apply to us, it doesn't apply to them.
  14. blOU went into last season with the consensus Heisman favorite and #1 QB in the 2021 class (not counting Ewers) backing him up. Next season they'll probably be starting Dillon Gabriel. You hate to see it.
  15. 1/21, though it looks like exceptions can be made until 2/2 https://registrar.utexas.edu/calendars/21-22
