  1. Agreed. He's great at expressing emotions without forcing it. I'm quite impressed with him.
  2. Fucking radioactive pig-boar hybrid deniers.
  3. Thanks for the update. I meant to ask last week when Austin played StL. Good luck to him!
  4. Going to need a bigger pocket.
  5. We watched Eternity this evening and enjoyed it.
  6. Was thinking about going to InterStellar Barbecue this morning. Even better, I got a text from my daughter that they were going today. Had her grab some food for me to go. Pound of moist brisket, pound of pork ribs, two jalapeño popper sausage links, two peach tea glazed pork belly, and the special piri piri chicken. Incredible as always.
  7. I'll say this. CAP is not a great route for natural sciences, engineering, etc. There is a route to business, though. My oldest daughter came to the school of liberal arts from UTSA with an economics major. While she was at Texas they added a BS in econ under the school of liberal arts - more emphasis on math and stats than the BA. She had several classes with her friends getting business degrees. She graduated and was able to get a good job doing financial analyzing here in Austin. I suspect, if she wants to, she'd be able to eventually get an MBA. My younger daughter wants to do physical therapy. She received a CAP offer which she declined. It made more sense to focus on hard sciences from day one.
  8. Partially responsive to our prescient discussion a couple weeks ago regarding hot and fast cooking at old school barbecue joints: Texas barbecue comes back down to earth
  9. My oldest was capped in 2020 and was devastated . . . Four years later she tossed her burnt orange cap in the air at DKR.
  10. You apply to Texas. If an acceptance isn't offered for Texas, some students get a CAP offer. There are different levels of CAP. Some students can apply to any of the school some aren't allowed to apply to UTSA or UTA. Either way that decision is made after getting the CAP offer. There are several CAP discussions on this thread - this time every year. Really worth the time to read.
  11. A parent cannot read @pops story without tears in their eyes.
  12. HEB valentine chocolate covered nutter butters are a good as any girl scout cookies.
  13. Patricio is in timeout for 5 minutes for being pedantic about the use of poisonous/venomous - even though he is absolutely correct. Glad to see you resurface. Welcome back.

  15. Why the long face?
  16. We all thought it, but damn.
  17. Pretty sure that la barbecue is still cooking briskets in 6 -7 hours, not sure of any others. At least not places that serve good brisket - eliminating Cooper's and any old school places like Kreuz or Smitty's.
  18. I thought me made a mistake by passing instead of shooting. I was obviously incorrect.
  19. That one is tough. She made a mark on everything she's done.
