Trey is drifting into a similar territory where heās going through the motions and doesnāt seem to really enjoy the sports aspect as much. Their producer for that show seems to do a lot of the heavy lifting now on the sports talk side of things. They never shouldāve split up Trey and BK in the first place IMO.
Depends when the players received the money because I think under Texas law, they can't receive NIL money until they actually begin classes at a post-secondary institution.
Wasnāt the Rooney Rule already satisfied when they interviewed Frazier one day after interviewing Daboll? That was 4-5 days before they interviewed Flores so I donāt get the notion that he got a sham interview after they had already decided on Daboll just to satisfy the Rooney Rule unless Iām not fully understanding the requirements for the Rooney Rule.
Minus the ādidnāt play footballā part Zac Taylor had been successful in Cincy despite never calling plays, being a Head Coach, or staying in one place for more than 2 years. Granted he seems to be the exception, but the NFL is a copycat league so teams see him having success and think āwe can do that too!ā Gotta think theyāre gonna try to make a move for Rodgers or Wilson.
4 hours would be a lot of time for Babers to fill but when he had the "Rodcast" with just him and no other cohosts he was pretty good. I think it was only a 2 hour show though. I didn't mind Dunn but there were a lot of times when Rod would try to make a point and Dunn would interject something not even really related and completely sidetrack the whole point Rod was trying to make. I'd imagine they'll have to bring in someone new to the station and shuffle the lineup. No idea who though.
Hopefully the fresh blood doesn't involve bringing FCB back to the radio business. Agree though that they need reshuffling. Chad and Trey are unlistenable and the afternoon show has been bad since BK left.
From a pure football standpoint, NFL is head and shoulders more entertaining. If I want to just casually watch football with no rooting interest, I'll go NFL but I get way more invested in Texas football games just because of the emotional attachment of being a lifelong Austin-area kid and a graduate of UT
