  1. Robin Trower is still kicking at 80.
  2. Isn't it more true that they were one play away from being shut out in their own stadium? And that we were two plays away from making it 31-0?
  3. "grizzly details"?
  4. You misspelled "geaux".
  5. First time I've gotten to watch the team this season. This is fun.

I knew of him mostly through his work with Johnny and Edgar Winter, but he seemingly worked with everyone. RIP. https://apnews.com/article/rick-derringer-dies-2b38685f4c97e7a9882f306628413924
  7. This is the correct answer
  8. The only dumb asses who believe that are aggy. Nobody else cares about them, other than to point and laugh.
  9. I know this is an unpopular opinion here, but if it meant getting the LHN back, I'd take Lowell Galindo in a heartbeat...just keep my finger on the mute button.

    What's the DKR line..."Like a bear toting' a walnut"?
  11. Not if we're sticking with the all-time top five we can't, but if you want to move it to seven, sure.
  12. Strike Penn State, add Michigan
  13. That's not milk.
  14. Can someone please convince me that I don't need this thing?
  15. Well, it was the Democrat party that was the party of slavery, and it was a Republican president that was assassinated, so...
  16. Exactly 160 years ago, to the minute as I write this, Abraham Lincoln was shot by an actor who was angry that the Confederacy had lost the Civil War, and that Lincoln planned to integrate recently freed slaves into American society. Along with Lincoln, any chance at successfully reconstructing and reintegrating the South into the U.S. died as a result. It took over a century to accomplish what should have been done in less than half the time, and in some ways, we're still dealing with the aftermath of that night.
  17. Wrong. The below happened about a half mile, as the crow flies, from my house last year. Rattled our windows pretty well. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/northern-virginia/sterling-house-explosion-report-faults-lack-of-ppe-failed-radio-transmissions/3813964/

Don't know if this has already been posted, but I really love this video. First half of the video shows the scene in and around the old Sam Houston Coliseum before the start of the show. This is the bootlegiest of bootlegs, with crappy sound and blurry video, but gives a pretty good feel for what it was like in the early 70s Too bad there's no smell-o-vision, or we'd all be getting contact highs. I know the Coliseum was a relatively small, dingy venue, but I always enjoyed going to shows there. It had a gritty vibe that can't be recreated at newer places. This video makes me miss my youth.
  19. I'm sure management will send around a team of guys with a spatula and a bucket of spackle and fix that shit right up. Seriously, good luck with your housing. I lived in Bangkok for a couple years a little over a decade ago, and I love the place, but I'm not sure I would trust my life to an earth quake damaged high rise built in an alluvial flood plain, regardless of how new it is, or who designed it.
  20. Go lay some pipe...everything will be fine.
  21. Now tell us what Shaka's record while at Texas was against Roy Williams at North Carolina. One coach's record against one other coach does not seem to be indicative of his talent as a coach.
  22. Kind of depends, doesn't it? Is this a leadoff walk? Because as we all know, leadoff walks always score. 😉
  23. Ironically, the old WB cartoons were not created as children's entertainment. They were created as filler to be shown between features at the local theaters, along with short features and newsreels. Sure, the animation and slapstick parts do appeal to kids, but much of the humor was aimed at adults and would have gone over the heads of the average kid.
