Agree. If someone coaches in the NFL, it's because they want to be in the NFL, and Texas isn't in the NFL. I imagine Baylor would have given Rhule a 10 year extension and a thousand virgins if he asked, but he wanted to be in the NFL so he left.
I think Sark would bring a lot of BDE and ideas about how to crank our recruiting operation dials to 11. He probably also has a lot of great contacts to build a staff. Obviously, his history with substance abuse and actual game day coaching would be a big question mark. But Urban is going to be our coach, so this may be a 2026 problem.
30,000 foot view: Urban has always made sense if you look at his history and at our situation. It’s us and USC.
