2022 NBA Offseason Thread — Trades, Free Agency, Firings, Sacramento doing dumb things, etc
Losing a second round pick is nothing in the NBA. Hell teams straight up buy a 2nd rounder for just a little cash on draft night. Chet looking like he has a bag on offense ngl. Its against summer league scrubs but still.

2022 Dallas Mavs Offseason - The search for a rim protector.
Makes no sense to me not to bring in Lukas best friend for the vet min. Dragic can still give you 15 minutes a night and we need another ball handler after Brunson told Cuban to fuck off.

Mavs kinda remind me of the Hawks from 2 years ago when they had a lightening in a bottle type run.

Miles Bridges turned down like $60 million a year ago and it was looking promising as well until he started doing lean and beating his wife. Not sure how he doesn't get suspended at least a year.

Westbrook is an expiring I believe so not the worst contract anymore. Nets don't need any tank commanders though. They have none of their own draft picks. Forced to still sorta be in win now mode. I can't get over the Twolves giving up 4 1st rounders + their 2022 1st round pick for Gobert. Should be a very good regular season team but thats about it unless ANT becomes incredible.

So many fringe of fringe all-star-ish players getting max money. Tough to compete when you are paying the 35th best player in the league as much as Giannis.

Don't know how the Mavs don't get desperate at some point. We're going into Luka year 5 and just took a slight step back most likely losing Brunson.

What are the TWolves doing?

As time moves on I have more respect for Golden States ownership. They give no fucks about money when it comes to winning. In turn you see the Nuggets trying to get under the luxury tax with a 2 x MVP and the Mavs owner etc not willing to go deep into the tax.

Apparently that guy is full of shit a lot.

Losing Brunson for nothing stings. Would have liked Gary Payton II but McGee is fine. Dragic come on down please. Mavs probably looking to get rid of Powell and Bertans at some point. Not sure what teams would want them.

KDs biggest mistake was becoming friends with Kyrie. Caught a lot of heat for the GSW decision but 2x Finals MVP will still be remembered over time. Getting away from Westbrook kinda made sense to me.

Why did the Wizards have to sign Beal for so much?

Don't want Kyrie. What would the Mavs even have of value to give up other than picks?

Kevin Durant Longhorn Legend
He picked the #1 seed teams from each conference.

KD and Kyrie will both be traded by the Nets. Even if the Nets dont bottom out the Rockets Harden trade looking sexy now.

Cuban got so lucky with Dirk and Luka Doncic I really think not resigning Brunson will be like Cubans FU to Steve Nash. Obviously JB will never be the same player as an MVP but pay him!! Don't lose assets for absolutely nothing.

Is Mo Bamba actually good? I feel the Mavs got a little unlucky one of like five teams with cap space went full regard over Brunson 4 years / 110 million which is around 14th best PG in the NBA money. Not terrible I guess but the Knicks shoving all their chips in the middle for the 8 seed or so in their conference is pure Knicks.

Feel like there will still be worse teams than the Spurs but good luck to their tank.

50% of the Knicks salary cap will be taken up by Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson.

Brunsons ties to the Knicks GM runs deep. Pretty sure he was Rick Brunsons agent and JBs godfather and now Leon Rose's son is JBs agent.

Kyrie thinks being different makes him smarter than everyone else. I hate Westbrook's game but at least he shows up to work and goes 100% every game.
