Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
Is it? I thought it was a private, rich-kid-with-decent-but-not-great test scores, match school, like Villanova, TCU, SMU, Richmond, etc.?

Wouldn’t it be easier to just fly around the world backwards so fast it turns back time and we prevent the initial ignition point? Use your head, man!

This is a very helpful long post from someone who appears to be very non-partisan and appears to have some climate science credentials:

That sounds like what they did at the Getty Villa and it seems to have worked. The one planning criticism I have seen that seems to have some merit is the question of whether regular controlled burns were being prevented by environmental regulations might have helped here. There is some truth in here in that a lot of rich, influential people are going to get pissed off and seek change, but Carolla got community-noted because the Pallisades actually majority-voted for Caruso and Malibu residents don’t vote in the LA mayoral election. As others have noted, the problem is just that there are some areas of the country that are prone to periodic catastrophic natural events, and if you build houses there, it is just a matter of time before they become at risk. See all the $10 million houses getting built on barrier islands on the east coast when hurricanes come along. SoCal has ecosystems that evolved in the context of regularly occurring burn cycles over millions of years. If you build a home in a canyon that doesn’t get a lot of rainfall and there are regular seasonal high winds, fires are going to happen periodically.

Moonshadows is gone, burnt down to the foundation. The Reel Inn is gone. Duke’s seems to be ok. Haven’t heard anything about Nobu.

Looking like the fires jumped the PCH in Malibu and have burned down a bunch of the beach houses on the ocean side of the road. Reporter at Rambla Vista and it’s all gone.

2024 Week 17 - Cotton Bowl CFP Semifinal Texas vs Ohio State
Exactly. I don’t know if she is just that dense, or ESPN required her and Finebaum to take different sides of the issue and she drew the short straw. On Franklin, the question was just about the Cotton Bowl matchup, not the whole final four, but I’d agree about him.

Watching the press conference of LA City and County officials right now and the Sheriff just warned against looting

2024 Week 17 - Cotton Bowl CFP Semifinal Texas vs Ohio State
I have often thought of our offense like a finely tuned Ferrari, runs like a dream when it’s well-maintained but frequently breaks down and is in the shop. Speaking of Finebaum, the ESPN morning show was on one of the TV’s while I was at the gym this morning and Mike Greenberg asked Finebaum and Heather Dinich which coach had the most pressure on them this game. Dinich said it was “100% on Sark” because the SEC has been bad in the playoffs and Texas is carrying the banner of the conference. To his credit, Finebaum respectfully disagreed with that ridiculous assessment.
