  1. Cool. You can go to the Festival Confederada if you get homesick.
  2. That may be my favorite small town in Colorado. Good friend from Texas moved up there about 20 years ago and started maybe the first private trail building company in America and is still going strong.
  3. Ensanada looks nice.
  4. No worry. Mexico, I mean The Pentagon will pay for Operation Lone Star. WASHINGTON — Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Sherman, wants the Pentagon to help pick up the tab for Gov. Greg Abbott’s immigration-and-drugs dragnet at the southern border. Fallon said Friday he was introducing a bill that would require the Defense Department to reimburse the state of Texas for more than $1.4 billion in costs stemming from what has been dubbed Operation Lone Star.

  6. Dug this Yosegaki Hinomaru out of my Mom’s closet before the moths decimated it. Luckily most of the writing is still legible. Taken from a soldier in the battle of Balete Pass in Northern Luzon. This will be on its way back to Japan via the OBON Society. https://obonsociety.org/eng/page/yosegaki-hinomaru

Have to check those out. I get into historical fiction binges but then have to take a break. Read these from Jay Penner followed by his Cleopatra trilogy. He seems to know his stuff and has a succinct writing style that always keeps the story moving along. (Penner is Dallas based)
  8. True, but I prefer On Any Sunday. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I know, right? Was going to have my pilot fly me to Miami to spend a few days on my yacht. Maybe cruise over to the Bahamas. Said fuck that. Told him to take me to my cabin in Angel Fire. Closer too. Can’t take too much more of this shit.

Found this one fascinating. Focus is mostly on the Ford family, Detroit and the Willow Run facility.
  11. Answer is: At the worst possible moment.
  12. I imagine it would get pretty warm in hours of full Sun. In my case if I had Sun I wouldn’t need turf. Mine was installed in Jan. and even with bare trees it felt warm in some areas but never hot. Dogs would lay out in it and seemed to enjoy it. I kept my sprinkler heads and I guess could run them to cool it off if needed but haven’t had to.
  13. Yes it is. Ours corrected some drainage issues. Have had numerous 2+ inch rains and it’s basically dry pretty soon afterwards. Most of the cost is in the prep work and putting down a good base, like with pavers.
  14. New one proposed in Fannin County east of Bonham is getting a bunch of NIMBY opposition.
  15. We got the “Pet Turf” from Ideal Turf. The lifespan of your synthetic turf lawn will depend on several factors, including the quality of the turf product, the quality of the installation and the amount of traffic it endures over the years. Depending on how these factors come together and the amount of proper maintenance it receives, you can generally expect manufactured grass to last somewhere between 10 and 20 years. You should see a higher-quality turf lawn last closer to 20 years
  16. Between 10 and 11k. Don’t remember exactly.
  17. Yeah. We kept the bed along the fence and filled it with mulch. Dogs usually prefer to do their business there. I keep a spray bottle with 50/50 vinegar- water mix in a spray bottle to use if they go on the turf. Also kept the sprinkler system and use it if needed.
  18. Rhythm Section: John Entwistle-Bass Keith Moon-Drums Can’t get much better than that.
  19. Impossible to grow grass in our back yard. Giant Elm tree and 2 dogs. Just had around 800 sq ft installed in Jan. We used Ideal Turf. Cost was somewhere around 12 to 12.50 sq ft.
  20. Abbott will take it and quietly divert it to fund his border initiative.
  21. Some replies are saying the majority owner is a former KGB officer but I’m too lazy to verify. “It ‘s not“news”. It’s propaganda from publication owned by a Russian oligarch. The supportive tweets here are mainly bots. Neither math nor reports from truly independent sources support assertions made here. Significant aid to UA arrives daily. Tough battle, but UA will prevail.”
  22. Oops fuck you tapa.
