Peter Tork RIP
If you haven't watched their swan song, Head, it's worth it. I love it, some great tunes, and a pretty subversive flick. And I just watched this yesterday, a great interview with their director Bob Rafelson, learned a lot about both the movie and the TV show (one reason they didn't hire Stephen Stills, he came in and wanted them to give him a hair transplant and some new teeth! Bob said ain't nobody got time for that...).

the remix.- Children of the Snow
Anybody else catch this on the ID channel the past couple of nights? The doc itself wasn't that great, very repetitive, but the case is very fascinating, child serial killer (the "Oakland County Child Killer") in the Detroit area in the mid 1970's. Just the whole underground pedophilia rings, christ, disturbing beyond words. Reminded me somewhat of "The Keepers" on Netflix, there was definitely some shady stuff going on with the cops, people being protected, etc. I don't have any idea who actually did it, so many threads, but I do agree that it was probably a team of predators, and that Chris Busch was definitely one of them.- ShaggyTexas Handover
Somebody finally pull the plug on the ol' shag? What will mofo do now...- Hatef*ck your ears.

Again this year, I have to recommend HDNET, they've got a pretty solid list of Oscar winners running this month. Quite a few on my "haven't seen that one in forever" list, and they give you plenty of chances over the month to catch them. February movie roster- Donald Trump 2019
Kinks fan?- Best opening lyrics of all time
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine , I keep my eyes wide open all the time Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Make me an angel that flies from Montgom'ry , make me a poster of an old rodeo Eighteen-hundred miles from this old nightclub, a girl is turning 22 today Now blue ain't the world for the way that I feel, and the storm's brewing in this heart of mine Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup, they slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe Something in the way she moves attracts me like no other lover I may not always love you But long as there are stars above you You never need to doubt it I'll make you so sure about it- Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin killed and buried in a shallow grave in Oklahoma
The fact that they stopped at a McDonalds when there's a Whataburger next door tells me all I need to know. Fuckin' Keystone cops.- How Fox News works
This one got me- Concerts you are attending
Went out to eat with the wife and we were talking about the EJ tour, I thought he was pretty much done with the states (I'd looked into going last fall), almost bought 2 tix for Tulsa next Sat, $850 for two, wife even agreed that was too much. Checked some more, end of spring break, Mar 15 in Jacksonville, 2 tix $580, pulled the trigger. Will be a nice road trip, last chance to see Elton, never seen him before, just couldn't pass it up.- Jan. 30, 1969 - The Beatles On the Roof
BTW, the link above appears to have some audio overdubbed from the official album and bootlegs. Here's a version with the original audio, for authenticity: https://archive.org/details/LetItBe_724 There might be other better versions, these were just the first 2 I came across...- Jan. 30, 1969 - The Beatles On the Roof
Ken Mansfield, former U.S. manager for Apple Records, recalls watching the momentous 1969 rooftop performance mere feet from the Fab Four https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/beatles-last-concert-rooftop-ken-mansfield-interview-783884/ 2003 article about the recovery of the Nagra tapes I mentioned above, source of hundreds of bootlegs and which will surely be integrated into the new film https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/the-beatles-buried-treasure-237925/- Jan. 30, 1969 - The Beatles On the Roof

Watching the original Let It Be right now, it's so dark, hopefully they can lighten it up some. And I know what broke up the Beatles, the hours (and I mean HOURS) spent on Maxwell's fucking Silver Hammer, what a load. Seriously though, will be curious to see the footage Peter Jackson can dig up of them all having fun together, because in the original they are definitely not.- Jan. 30, 1969 - The Beatles On the Roof
Yeah, saw that yesterday, wasn't sure where to post it. Guess I'll dig out my 14 DVDs worth of Nagra reel audio and get ready!- Jan. 30, 1969 - The Beatles On the Roof
Listening to a stream right now on KOOP 91.7, the Eggmen are at the Austin Library recreating the rooftop concert. Well, that part's already done, now they're just playing other 68-69 era songs, good stuff.- The 10 Best Movies You've Ever Seen

One thing I did to help me see more posts was to go to the Traces page, click on "Notifications", then select "See First". Any recent posts will then be at the top of your newsfeed when ever you log in. It's not perfect, but it at least reminds me about the page, which I will then click on and go view the posts I missed. - Post a pic that makes you say "Holy shit."
