  1. I agree that he's a special athlete, but I'd take Livingstone and Mosely over him anyway.
  2. I mean he plays like kid who's never had to work to be the best. "Matures" is probably the better word. I only went to the OSU game but I kept my eye on him because I think he's an interesting case. He didn't run good routes, didn't go after the ball, didn't know how to sit down in the zone or look for the QB when things went south, looked totally unpolished -- that's after a year of starting -- and he didn't seem to improve any of those things as the year went on. His stats improved because Sark got him the ball even though he dropped half of them because he's a big, fast freak. I hope he realizes what he's got to learn and earn by becoming a student of the game and working for it, but as I said, after zero improvement from freshman to sophomore, I'm not holding my breath. Though I'm rooting for him.
  3. Wingo is the 3rd-4th best receiver on the team. If he grows up and actually learns how to be a receiver, he could move up pretty quickly -- he's that athletic -- but I'm not holding my breath.
  4. Wingo has all the physical gifts to be great but doesn't seem to get the position technically or have the sense to practice / learn it. Maybe he'll grow up this year and realize "potential" means shit the further you get.
  5. Seems to me he's been treated well by the fanbase, all in all. Yes he got booed after a truly horrible stretch but that didn't seem all that nasty under the circumstances, and everyone was quick to encourage him soon-after. It's hard not to like the kid. I'd like to think he's is having the time of his life.
  6. Would you like to coach the University of Texas?
  7. There were plenty of us, mostly in the Quinn thread, saying Arch wasn't ready (to replace Quinn) last year and probably wouldn't be ready from the jump this year -- crazy game-hen shit like throwing into triple coverage doesn't just disappear overnight. But the "he'll have his struggles" narrative got lost in all the hype.
  8. Not by me. I never thought Arch would be ready. Strangely, as long as the O-line can improve, it's the D that might hamper us next year.
  9. True but everyone will have holes and we have as much talent in the wings as anyone. Arch should be the x factor.
  10. We'll need depth, but I feel like we'll be stacked enough other than O-line and WR (though Livingston, Mosely and (cough) Wingo are pretty stout if the youngsters come on) to actually earn a top pre-season ranking. The main point is Arch has become what we thought he'd be -- better than Quinn -- and with that kind of talent leading a roster like ours we ought to wreck shop if our coach can stop stepping on his dick.
  11. I don't see any universe where Sark leaves unless he's forced out ala Beard. Next year will be his first and maybe only chance to win it all.
  12. Not so fast, amigo. They have self-pump and full service now, somebody's always there. Works well.
  13. Well I just think that's mean.
  14. Looks we'll have to depend on over-confident Georgia now, ha.
  15. Psychologically, I think if they lost this week they'd be pissed off like somebody wrecked their trans am, whereas a shoddy win (like ours) would make them more uncertain and beatable. Of course it's debatable.
  16. We want to beat Georgia and them losing today (not happening obviously) would make that more difficult IMO. Defeating an undefeated A&M would be worth it to me, though backing into the SEC championship at 9-3 would give us another shot at the playoffs and a game or two to watch. Still we'd have to catch fire to feel like we deserved it.
  17. That TD was too easy. I want Georgia to win ugly and nervously so they'll be insecure next week instead of pissed off.
  18. If they finish 4-0 I Sark should lose whatever hand he jerks off with.
  19. Sounds like you've only been to Newark and Trenton.
  20. I hope Nickelson has a good sense of humor because he's become the poster boy for oafish stumbling-bear incompetence.
  21. If we win out, definitely. I hear you about Georgia. Why should we get in the playoffs when we'd normally be in the Holiday Bowl or wherever? But if we battle and come up just short and then wreck Arky and Aggy (still undefeated), who else on the bubble will have our chops? We'll see.
  22. Because (if we play Georgia tough and beat Arky / A&M) we're not just a weird, inconsistent team with talent, but a team with a clear trajectory, whose QB could be entering a period of greatness and and whose shitty O-line might be coming its own (I hope), giving us a cool narrative and real shot.
  23. NM / Removed for making no sense.
  24. I think his point was that they struggled, too.
  25. Normally if we lost three I'd say fuck it we don't deserve it and can't win it all anyway. Not this time.
