2024 Texas Football Coaching and Support Staff Thread
I totally agree that Nansen is a witch recruiter - and would be so at Texas. The fact that IT is the first to mention this gives me some pause on its actual veracity

I thought @closetojumping (or someone else- sorry if misappropriated) had mentioned that Nansen was Sark’s (heavy) drinking buddy back in the day. It’s interesting that Sark has seemingly never gone to his previous list of assistant coaches even when they’ve been widely available. It almost seemed like he purposely avoided them. Just my thoughts on this

Have to wonder that if Domani Jackson is any good, he follows Donte Williams to Georgia.

Of course! Sadie‘s is a Day 1 or 2 automatic. Our other personal favorites are Saggio’s and Golden Crown. Saggio’s was the pre-game hangout for us.

Both of you deserve more rep than I’ll ever have; and seeing as I’ll be back in NM next weekend, Blake’s is definitely on the list!

Wow. I feel like that’s out kicking UNM’s coverage. Bronco is solid and deserves to be at a hard-working program that will achieve with underachievers. UNM football is barely there to pass time until basketball season.

Ikaika Malloe is another former UW associate of PK. Coaches the heck out of the DL and EDGE at UW and UCLA. Seems able to recruit the west coast and may bring/keep Polynesian ties. In all honesty, this seemed to be a matter of when for Choate, so Sark and PK likely have their guy ready. JUST NO FREAKING STOOPS!

I thought Avalos was being considered for other DC spots? As long as the replacement can also recruit with Choate’s energy, make it happen!

I think that for Choate, it’s more about being a HC again and going back to the mountains. I should think staying at UT gives him a better P5 opportunity, and probably after some of realignment dust dies settles

Scouring some Boise St boards: seems like their “insiders” feel that the only reason Choate wouldn’t take that job is because he’s offended he wasn’t picked over Avalos a few years ago. But the job seems to be either Choate or the interim guy. Some there are pining for Kellen Moore….

@Magus Ossiswith the goods. My experience is that high-level athletes without a complicated meniscus tear, a BPTB graft, and an attentive/aggressive rehab program can be back well within 9 months. You know that any prolonged immobilization of his knee will set him back next fall more than anything. I’d be upbeat about his rehab program at least.- Hey PK -- What would you say you do here?
Double dip- Hey PK -- What would you say you do here?
Avalos or Choate? Yes. Wait wut Choate coached at Boise St with PK (and Justin Wilcox) before going off to be a HC on his own. Wilcox moved on to Wisc, Tenn, then to Cal. PK went with Petersen to UW. Aválos mostly came up after this group, under Harsin and was promoted when Harsin went to Auburn. interestingly enough, Wilcox was Sarks first DC at UW (and prior to Petersen/PK)- Hey PK -- What would you say you do here?
What might be more interesting is that Boise St just fired Andy Avalos. I wonder if PK or Choate would be interested there. Actually, also could just bring Harsin back in. That’s convenient- Tell Me About Texas a&m

My two cents agrees that most of the play-calling was like a scrimmage. The first 2-3 series were/scripted so that’s where Sark admittedly came out with passing plays (like 5-7 in a row). Ideally Sark and Co fix the back foot issue - Quinn had that issue last year and also looks different when he plants and follows through. I feel that the Red-Cat series was a single play that is likely to give Sark and Co film to teach of off and or adjust off of.- Texas vs ou - 11am on ABC

Maybe details on a Coleman tangent, but didn’t Sark say this about Coleman AFTER Wiggins was retained by Alabama and Simmons stayed at OU? And fuck all, Raymond would have been excellent.- 2023 Texas Coaching and Support Staff Thread
Did Tee Martin get absolved from the Tennessee/Pruitt stuff? He was technically on that staff, but I cannot see that he was implicated in the scandal directly. Also his son plays baseball for U of Miami. Would absolutely love him in staff though.- NFL week 17 / Bills DB Damar Hamlin seriously injured, taken away via ambulance- MNF game suspended
