Having players like this will help justify future ND wins over Stanford as a reason to always put ND in the playoff.
Apologies for the CFP rant on this board.
Maybe Sark wants another Cole Brevard type that he can line up over the ball? I think Sharma is the only one of the list that fits that mold, and Sark probably wants another one with experience
Dude is mad because worthless Arkansas was worse than Florida and couldn't play spoiler to any team this year. That's all that Arkansas football has become.
So the Texas vs. OSU 16.6M was the highest regular season number.
The TV network execs are really going to hate losing that windfall of money starting next year.
I guess we will see tonight if the networks have talked with the CFP committee.
That's our only hope. My longshot call is they drop ND to 12 and put us at 10.
Opposing offenses figured out how exploit Jaylon Guilbeau, and our back up freshmen had a learning curve. Michael Taaffe was out some of those games. Jelani McDonald was out most of the Vandy game. Refs helped Vandy along. Georgia got hot in the 4th quarter. We put backups in against Ark in the 4th.
I'm less concerned about our defense. A better offense that can sustain drives can help the defense.
Cry more? Are you 12?
I know there are idiots on this board, but I didn't know I was responding to someone who needs their parents permission to use the internet.
We are 100% being punished for ohio state. Is bama being punished for getting blown out for FSU? The same FSU that just got blown apart by Florida?
This narrative of its the Florida loss is getting exhausting.
And the narrative too of "well Texas barely beat Miss St and Kentucky". Bama just barely beat a terrible Auburn team. Oklahoma just barely beat a terrible LSU team.
We have 3 losses. That's what we are getting punished for. If we played Minnesota or some other junk team, we would not be getting punished for the Florida loss. No way, not at all. Get this Florida punishment narrative out of here.
It's 100% because we played a top 5 non conference game and that cut into our margin of error. There's no other reason.
We should immediately cancel all P4 out of conference games. There is no upside at all. I don't care if we get shade from talking heads or Facebook power posters.
I want to be in the playoffs, and P4 out of conference games put that at risk. Cancel them all tomorrow.
I don't care for the "it's great for the sport." I care about what's great for Texas and screw everyone else. Putting the playoff at risk for something that provides no upside is stupid.
Kill all P4 non conference games immediately.
- The passing defense will be better with Taafe back.
- Sark finally decided to call the offense differently the past 5 quarters and it is working.
- The OL looked better with the better play calling and Hutson at LG and Robertson at C.
- Arch is showing more accuracy and confidence.
Those are the reasons I am thinking we will win this game.
I don't think costs have changed.
Rev shared has allowed more schools to offer amounts closer to what Texas been able to provide. So there is more competition across the board than we have seen in the past.
That also brings in more schools that will pay unreasonable amount for some players that Texas won't match. This might be a short term problem for Texas, but it should even out as those teams feel a budget crunch in a year or two.
99% of this board has that guy on ignore for a reason.
Him posting here is the equivalent of Creed Bratton posting on Creed Thoughts - no one is reading it. He is writing stuff that no one will actually read because he is on ignore by nearly everyone. He is waisting his time and server space because no one cares.
You chased down one of my older posts from the other week in a different thread just to neg me back. Then you made a separate post to disparage me. All because your feelings were hurt.
I can tell it will be a waste of my time explaining what's dumb about your post.
Have the same fans that want Nagy to pick a HC looked at Nagy's recruiting class this year? There isn't anything there to brag about - it's worse than the typical coach transition class. Why trust the same guy to get a good HC?
This class stacked on to the past couple of classes and it is easy to see that there are many dark years ahead for OU. I don't think the portal can solve the woes of recruiting this poorly.
Any new weather updates for the game tomorrow from the part-time meteorology experts on this board? I just can't be bothered to open the weather app on my phone to figure it out. I'd rather blindly trust one of the idiot savants here
"Hell, you can’t do any worse. Get in there" is what Sark will / should say to Matt Caldwell around the 2nd Quarter against Florida. Then he needs to call Deion to get his advice on how early is too early to retire a player's number because Caldwell's ~60% completion rate and somewhat timely throws will look like the great thing a Texas QB has ever done.
A silver lining here is that I don't think our QB needs to be a savior for Texas to be successful this year. We just need one that can be a threat to and actually complete passes. It doesnt need to be record setting numbers. Just decently good. That would have beat Ohio State.
I think Caldwell can be good enough if we have to go that route. Hopefully Arch figures out this week how to be decently good and we can put this madness behind us.
I know Arch is in more of a developmental phase than most of us expected, but that Michigan offense was awful. All they did was hand the ball off to run it up the middle. Michigan chose to be one dimensional during that game, and it made things easy for the OU defense.
So I think it's hard to extrapolate anything from the Michigan-OU game to what can be expected for when we play them.
Anyone here trying to pin this on Sark's play calling is a moron.
What's he supposed to do with a QB that can't make routine passes? Arch was awful. That was the reason we lost. Arch sucked. That is the fundamental reason we lost. Nothing else.
