Gold bug / silver bug / numismatic / metals thread
Gold:Silver ratio down to 97 today. Hoping price of gold drops or price of silver goes up. If the ratio gets to 80, I'll make the swap.

Notice how she was trying on the white dress and smiled a big smile into the mirror? Then came out wearing a black dress with a RBF.

Asshole is not a term I use much. It's "idiots" for women, and "dicks" for men. But of course I always tell them (daughter as well) that I shouldn't use that language, and they shouldn't either. Probably not very effective, but I don't want to over-protective them either.

Trivial Things That Make You Surly

All the storage shelving in my garage are on casters. I haven't had to move them around yet, but it sure comes in handy when I'm trying to reach that plug for the Christmas lights.- Trivial Things That Make You Surly
Probably mentioned this a few pages back. But young people on public transportation who don't give up their seats to older folks. My mom (75) and dad (84) still give up their seat if they see someone more feeble than them get on the subway. These gen Y and Z dipshits deserve ass kickings.- Things that remind you of growing up poor.
I ordered that at an AYCE korean BBQ place a few weeks ago. Tongue is delicious. At least they slice it up, so it looked like any other kind of meat. I was in Taiwan last month and we went out for lunch. My MIL ordered the cow tongue as her entree. She got a recognizable cow tongue. It was tender and I would've traded my chicken for her dish if she hadn't already inhaled it.- I'm not a bot!
Yeah, keep fucking around. When MikeHoncho becomes sentient in 5 years, you're gonna find out.- Things that remind you of growing up poor.
Gotta used leftover rice. Rice that you just cooked won't have the right texture. And MSG.- Trump’s America
Just finished reading The Handmaid's Tale so this hits close to home. Also started watching the show on Hulu. Serena Joy in the show is MUCH HOTTER than what I pictured her when reading the book.- Things that remind you of growing up poor.
Wife and I reuse aluminum foil unless there is stuff burned on it. Nothing wrong with that. Left over rice is perfect for a fried rice. Scramble up some eggs, throw in some type of protein (leftover steak, salmon, SPAM), some frozen peas and carrots and green onions. And you got yourself a good tasting fried rice.- Trivial Things That Make You Surly
Have you watched Veggie Tales or read any of the books. I was surprised how religiousy they were- Dumbass Shit We See On Facebook
How reliable is the XC90? If I didn't have a company car, I would get a V60 or V90. Never owned a wagon, but I'd get one before I get a SUV. Missing a jizz jar.- Trivial Things That Make You Surly

Put them all on a plane and maybe, perhaps, have a Yevgeny Prigozhin type mishap?- Trivial things that please the ever living shit out of you
I listen to the Guardian podcast. Their audio logo at the beginning is drops to a low bass note. It's not noticeable when I listen to it on my earphones, but in my car, when I turn the volume up, the bass note makes the car vibrate a little. Is this trivial enough?- Home Theater Upgrade.
Watch the beginning of Gravity. Incredible amount of bass that you don't notice until you get a subwoofer. Even my little 10" sub rattled the windows.- Tariff wars, they have began
Trump will pull back tariffs in 3... 2... 1... https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/trump-meet-retailers-including-walmart-home-depot-discuss-tariffs-impact-2025-04-21/ The Trump base shops at Walmart. They will get fucked in the ass because of their orange god. Lots of other people will be hurt as well., but- Post a pic that makes you lol
Too soon on both.- Random thoughts that don't warrant a thread
My daughter saw a red MX-5 this weekend and said she wanted one when she started driving. As a dad who drove the hell out of a first-gen MX-5, I'm totally stoked that she wants a fun car. I'm going to tell her the only way she gets one is if she learns how to drive a stick, which ain't happening because she's completely uncoordinated.- Parenting Woes & Other Stories
Thanks guys and gals. I spoke to my wife this weekend (yes she's not mad at me anymore) and she actually gave be a B. Part of the reason I don't spend much time with them in the evenings is because they're watching TV, and I'm not particularly interested in cartoons and other kid programs - that's something my wife does. Sometimes I'll pray with them and put them to bed, but I mainly defer to my wife for that. I guess in my initial post, I didn't mention something of the good things I do... every morning starts with a big hug or a kiss on the head. They help me with breakfast while I help them pack lunches. I pick them up from after school activities and make it a point to talk to them instead of giving them my phone. While I don't spend enough time with them during the week, it's different on the weekends. I've taken them camping, going on bike rides, swimming, etc. This past weekend we went to Good Friday service, I spent time with my daughter while my boy was doing BJJ, went swimming Saturday afternoon, played tennis Sunday afternoon and had the boy help me with the steaks. My son is addicted to screen time, but he can be pulled away if I give him something interesting to do, e.g. He did all the prep on the steak and even did the butter basting while I helped. Where I can improve on is my temper. I get wound up when my kids won't go to bed or push back when I ask them to clean up. Getting them away from their screens is another source of frustration. But I definitely need to improve my communication with my wife in front of the kids. Both of us can get pretty thin skinned and get mad at each other, get snarky or raise our voices at each other. Definitely not the right example in front of the kids. Still lots of things to work on, but I guess Friday was an anomaly since they still cling to me at times, and want to spend time with me (as long as there are no screen around). Thanks again for the input. I'm not too worried about my daughter since she's a good student and has great friends (I know all of their dads), but worry about my boy who only has a few friends and thinks school, Chinese and piano classes are a big inconvenience.- Parenting Woes & Other Stories
