Let’s be real. The new hire HAS to spend at least from nine to eleven months of his/her (hey it’s a new world) life EACH YEAR in Collie Station. Once you make $4+ million a year, leaving Columbus (good golf courses) Clemson, Lawrence, Manhattan …. Wait I just defeated my own argument. Carry on.
We had a lot of “post traumatic Mack disorder” to work through. Then the Fools gold from CS & Mensa boy triggered us and left some in trauma shock. Piling on Sark early when he still had to clean out the Herman stench wasn’t fair. But understandable. Forget it Jake, it’s SurlyTown.
Maybe now we can appreciate the progress. Actually support Sark and the players. They still gotta do their jobs tho. After all, they’re gettin paid more than most of us.
No. Makeup calls are the lowest form of corruption. Makes it SEEM like they’re competent and fair. Bullshit calls to pad stats when the game is all but over.
This has been referenced by several posters on The Surl. So. Sounds like we’ve got a pass defense problem. Does anybody address that or just hate on Sark calls? It’s the biggest problem we’ve got. It Lost the ou game. It Let Houston back in. It Let KSU catch up. Our rush is not scary anymore and the DBs! Are. Awful! it’s obvious to everyone watching film.
Hasn’t Maalik had more than two weeks with Sara? More like, two years. He shouldn’t be an “in game” practice player. His pregame body language says he thinks he’s great! His results don’t match his attitude. Confidence is born out of actual productivity. Humility is the cure for arrogance.
nFL talk is tiresome. NFL geniuses didn’t rate Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson etc etc so highly. Maalik needs to step up like the backups that have beaten Texas’ ass over the years. Caleb Williams two years ago. Brock Purdy. The big BYU guy who later played at New Orleans. I’m sick of 5 star this and cannot arm that. Recruit winners and gamers. Don’t care how they look in their uniforms.
Granted Cook got pushed down. I haven’t looked at replay, but it seemed like I saw 3 white jerseys around the ball that was picked by one of them. If true that’s a bad read. Cook not open.
I’m not mad at Maalik. He’s just not the player in real-time that some of y’all hyped for the last two years. BTW. I’ve not seen him actually run. Isn’t that a supposedly a weapon at QB? It should be at least a threat. It’s Not even a threat if he never does it. So. How slow is he? He does not inspire confidence that he can stretch the defense if our OL misses a block. Which … they do a lot!
Joel Klatt called it correctly in real time. Texas offense was garbage the entire 4th Q. And in OT. If KSU kicks it they could score again and we prob wouldn’t. I guess other “better coaches” than Sark make game losing decisions too!
Yeah. Sark. The two stupid ints he threw. Him stupidly missing an easy tackle on the sideline TD for KSU. And then him making Brooks fumble. All leading to 21 pts. Sark should be shot!
Most coaches are big on the “loyalty thing”. AND they don’t want to hurt their fragile lil QBs egos. Mack made a deal with the d3vil to play Chris Simms no matter what. Cost us at least a Big 12 Championship and chance at MNC. Stubborn. Sark being an ex-QB may have promised MM his “shot” if Ewers couldn’t go. Few coaches like to alternate QBs. Reasons for not playing Manning are running out. Hope Ewers is healthy when/if he comes back. ALSO: you guys pathetic with your criticism of Sark when the players are playing badly. Sark makes poor decisions. And lots of really good ones. Mostly bring us back from the Dark Ages. Enjoy the wins. Bitch about defeats. But quit pitching about irrelevancies that mask the real fuckups in the actual games. Players are supposed to play well. I doubt Coach Pete coaches them to leave receivers open. Our secondary sucks. They get paid and get lots of practice. On both sides of the ball. Proper execution would solve a lot of these “close game collapses”. It ain’t ALL poor coaching.
I watched Simms in real time. And then reviewed my taped (i know) game replays. He watched his receivers like a Jr high QB. Fragile also. Really nice kid but not a next level QB. Ewers has much more to prove before he’s considered elite. But he’s already better than the Chris Simms that underperformed so badly. I admit I was an Applewhite fan. He was a gamer! Ewers might be too. Time will tell. I should know. I’m Bobby Layne.
