My first red flag was when he came in for Quinn vs Georgia. He looked scared. Every time he had played thus far, he came in with swagger and the team seemed to rally off him but when his number was called he didn’t look quite ready, which wasn’t a knock at the time. Just thought he was gonna be the qb like sam was, where he would put it on his shoulders.
My thing is why didn’t the 9.95ers say he wasn’t looking good in practice. Or does sark keep things close to the vest? One thing about our 9.95ers is they are aren’t afraid to talk shit about Texas.
How is UGA? Looking at the score they seem underwhelming, but it’s also the beginning of the season. This one guy, forgot his name I’m pretty sure he was down on arch the first game. The football guy? Idk he wears glasses, anyway he was impressed with them saying the defense is good and they were vanilla but expected because they don’t want to show anyone anything lol something about Kirby being serious this year because he was on his team hard that game.
I’m not saying we lose to Florida but they remind me of texas when we sucked. We could 100% lose to anybody but we could also beat someone we shouldn’t. They did it last year. We should win though, they have 2 tough games before us.
Yeah. I can’t tell if we are worse or the same. Ewers would’ve taken a lot of self sacks but also would’ve been better at other things. It seems everything offsets itself. The biggest thing for me, is Ewers always had great wr or 2. Sometimes they may have been quiet during the season, but really turned it on during the playoffs like AD and golden. Manning doesn’t have that luxury, also we probably won’t even make it that far lol.
Anybody going to the game and willing to snag me 2 of those new orange helmet yetis? Obviously I will pay + shipping. I’ll even buy you one if that helps any lol.
I think the red flag for him is always been no one trying to hire him away. Everyone knows sark calls the plays but still, some programs could have wanted him to help them with the secret to Texas’ success to help with their program.
The 4th down fail all comes down to execution. We would’ve been bitching if arch threw it saying he could’ve just ran it in. I don’t think the play call was bad for a qb sneak it was executed as poorly as possible, though . If a RB would’ve tried we would been bitching to keep it in arch’s hands( well maybe not because he sucked lol) All in all, when we face a good time everything goes sideways on a 4 down call for us. Whether it be the play call, the players, or all the above. Not mad for him going for it because tOSU just went for it and got it. We were at the freaking 1. But at this point, if we know we are never gonna get in the red zone with the struggles, then I guess kick it.
The cover 3 podcast guy. Forgot his name, starts with a B I think. He tweeted something like Texas isn’t going to face a secondary as good as that but they will face a better d line.
That was my first thought too regarding CTJ lol. That’s when I knew he may really be our best wr this year lmao and he has to deal with it. But yeah yesterday was a mixed bag. It was the first game and it’s not like we got blown out. Ohio state looked a tad bit better but we set the bar really low. IF we do turn the corner, this game was needed. No way we needed to be #1 all year trying to hold that spot and the insane hype on arch. The team needs this in order to grow. The concerning thing was arch, though. He needs to get better and make basic throws. If this is who he is, you can kiss the playoffs goodbye. He has 3 weeks to “practice”. On the 4th and goal that was stuffed, I don’t necessarily think it was that bad. Ohio state scored there first TD by going for it on 4th down so how could you not? All last year we talked about pulling ewers so arch could run it in that situation. We also aren’t the eagles so just run it straight up. I just hope we don’t turn into penn state, never beating good teams. We’ve gotten this end of the game so many times. Played horrible all day then get close, have a chance to win it and can’t do it. The only time we actually won a close game was Arizona state.
Did Gilbert get all this hype by the 9.95ers before the season too? Didn’t pay attention back then like now. All of them were hyping manning up like he’s the real deal. Not saying he still can’t be but I did expect better. Were we gaslighted? Granted this is the first game of the season and it was only 14-7. (Surprisingly) I think it can only get better. It’s not like tOSU is Michigan from last year. They reload consistently. It seemed like sayin has more of a bright future and was concerning that this is manning 3rd season here so I would’ve thought he would’ve looked a bit better. Idk if tOSU just schemed better for sayin than Texas did or because he actually has legit wrs or all the above
