Hamburgers at Dayne's are very good. Not wait an hour in 100 degree weather good, but very good.
I had to wait an hour Friday. No bueno, won't be doing that again.
I was less impressed with Kirk's portrayal. I don't need the actor to ham it up, but I also don't want him to act like an auditor/accountant type. I just didn't get any charismatic feel from him. Very dry and low key performance. Just not a big enough personality for a captain of a starship. This guy doesn't strike me as someone who can travel back in time and pull whales out of the ocean and save the world. He strikes me as someone who could tell me how much fishing for whales would cost.
A larger sample size would probably help, maybe I just haven't seen enough to get a good feel. He's coming back for season 2, so we'll see how it goes.
They might not want someone who overshadows the current star/captain of the Enterprise. Probably smart.
Directly lifted from TOS. Go back and watch that episode. Sound effects, camera angle, music, dialogue, all taken straight from that episode. It's my all time favorite TOS episode.
They did a great job. Best episode of the season. Great opening season.
There's a rumor out there that Son is on Real Madrid's radar since they lost out on Mbappe. I can't see that happening, but who knows?
Levy is involved in the Spence negotiations now. That's the kiss of death. He'll haggle over the last $1M and Spurs will miss out on him.
Yeah, I'm not happy about the Eriksen rumor. Getting him for free would have been a coup. We need depth this season. Winks is on his way out, and for now, we still have Ndombele. Midfield is getting there with Bissouma coming onboard and Skipp returning.
We're in play for Raphina and Richarlison, so that's interesting.
Yes, fantastic movie. 50's sci-fi that isn't remotely as scary as the 1982 movie.
A lot of fun to watch, good characters, entertaining. Very similar to another '50s flick, Them.
While on the phone, I thought she was asking direct questions that he was answering, and then she asked him if he was okay when he went quiet. I think whoever he was talking with was very much alive. Could be that the daughter is dead, and whoever he's talking to on the phone is not his daughter.
What made me think it was the FBI girl was that Lithgow called her "kiddo" and Bridges called his daughter "kid". She also knows that Lithgow just lost his kid in a car accident, and Bridges mentioned that to Lithgow. Maybe Bridges has an inside girl.
Who knows? Just speculation on my part.
My speculation is that the girl working in the FBI for Lithgow is gonna turn out to be Bridges' daughter. Just my opinion based on two episodes.
Enjoying it so far. Really good.
