Now , if this was a turkey contest, we might have a better chance as they have been eating the hell out of it during the day. Spring turkey will def be game on. They have been killin our sauce piles🦃
378 will be hard to beat! We are entered into this contest as well. We have been saucing them for 3 weeks now and tomorrow we hunt them for the first time (ice storm f’d is the first weekend) we think we have a few over 300...we will find out tomorrow ! Here are a few we think might be 300+
HAHA very true and Lake Como, its people and restaurants were awesome. I was just trying to emphasize the drastic driving conditions compared to well, just about anywhere. We were there in peak touristo time around mid July and it was very busy to say the least😄
Lake Lugano, Verzasca River Valley, and Lake Maggiore are just across the border in Switzerland - Super nice places with many great restaurants. My favorite activity we did while there was swimming and hanging out on the Verzasca River. I highly recommend Restaurante Seven in Ascona on Lake Maggiore - we were there 10 years ago and it was rated one of the top 10 restaurants in Switzerland at that time - not sure now but it was an amazing dining experience. Driving....I see lots of recs for renting and driving and I agree driving is awesome but after driving in Switzerland for a week with a very regimented highway system and very calculated Swiss driving populace, the transition into Italy around Lake Como scared the living shit out of me - very narrow roads, cars parked on both sides, maybe 1' clearance on either side, crazy, less regimented Italians weaving around, and speeding with their hot blooded mannerisms which seemed hotter than the more laid back Swiss so it really put me on edge haha - we still talk and and laugh about it to this day in our family....
How about Heli-skiing in Alaska😀? Their heli season is just now starting and April is prime. The corn snow skiing lasts until late June and early July

TexPx - really like the nude piece. I will add another Texas artist - Herb Booth who passed in 2014 - very well known wildlife and sporting artist - 13 pieces of his became Texas Parks and Wildlife or Gulf Coast Conservation Association conservation stamps. Here is a watercolor named “Dove Tank”

There are a few triple blacks there (Ive never skied them) but Liberty Bowl a single black is great when they have snow. Otherwise, mostly double blacks. I have rarely felt the need to pay the extra to go up the Tram as the resort is so huge and has so much good terrain to explore....I have skied there about 12 days in the past 2 years and I have only skied mostly on one side of the mountain and still havent skied all those runs ....
Taos is extending their season a few days this year thru April 10th as they are hosting the World Pro Ski Tour World Championships 4/7-10 - I will probably go to this. Another recommendation is Big Sky, MT (Ikon Pass resort) which closes later on April 24, 2022...
Moar Art ! 1 Jon Flaming - Richardson, Texas artist - had 2 solo museum shows last year in Midland and Tyler - this is from his popular Modern Cowboy series (he was also featured in Texas Monthly for his Series of paintings from BBQ joints around Texas A few years ago)
Frito's hits close to home. I have not eaten Frito's in awhile but the wife (no pics) sent me to store last night on the frozen streets of hell here in DFW to get Frito's for Chili. Well WTF? they had every brand and type of chips except fritos.....What gives??
It’s a
It’s an investment (that’s what I tell my wife anyway:) or a selfish sickness haha but I wish I had been collecting when Agnes Martin was painting in Taos and selling her paintings of that size for 5 figures and now 20 years later they exceed 7 figures ....
That is the trick with AbEx ....it is stripped down to basics - no use of figures, no illusions, no patterns....just colors and forms. You can slap it around the canvas but it doesn’t work until a balance is achieved and if it is real good, motion and tension are strategically thrown in the mix to make it a winner...Here’s another Tom Dixon from Taos
It gets real interesting up close as you can see the strata and history of paint layers and scratches and chiseling of work that goes into this abstraction...a few of my fav portions of this painting
