Succession -- HBO
My immediate thought, as well. She's classy hot as fuck

The White House Plumbers- Woody Harrelson, Lena Heady, Judy Greer, Justin Thoreaux- HBO Max
I was disappointed by this, as well. It was clear pretty quickly this would be campy as hell. They did a damned fine job of making it hilarious, so I give 'em a thumbs up in that regard, but I'd love to see a limited series that takes the subject matter seriously. It's one of the most fascinating periods in our nation's history.

The outcome of the trial is what makes it interesting.

Matthew Rhys as Perry Mason HBO
I love the Perry Mason theme song from the old tv series over the post credits This is such an outstanding show. Like everyone else, I'm hoping/praying we get more.

Just started Love and Death. Almost done with first episode. Outstanding so far. Lived in Garland throughout my childhood in the 70's, so this hits close to home. My God, what a trip down memory lane. The music, fashions, cars and just the way people talked/acted. Spot on.

I was disappointed to hear that, as well. I'll be pissed if this series doesn't get finished.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - Amazon Prime
"The Harfoots, who may look like nice little Hobbits, but their society is built around making good time on an eternal road trip. So they'll leave you to die in a ditch if you so much as twist an ankle." 😂 Holy fuck the character names! 😂😂😂

I don't recall if this has been posted on this thread, but holy shit, this is a good one.

Succession -- HBO
Let's see: A group of terribly insecure and therefore greedy, selfish, self-centered, self-seeking, manipulative and dishonest people with failed relationships and family members with a history of mental illness and abuse, set in a corporate world where avarice and greed and backstabbing run amock. That sounds otherworldly to you?

Matthew Rhys as Perry Mason HBO
Well I just re-watched the scene where Mason's office is being broken into and all we see is the locks turning. We never see the fingernails of the dude breaking in. That has to come into play at some point. There's a reason they spent so much time showing us Strickland sustaining the injury, and then later the severe bruising on the fingers.

Matthew Rhys as Perry Mason HBO
It very well could happen. It may even need to. Otherwise Mason's legal career could be over in a hurry. That was my first thought once we saw that the gun actually was in the safe. My first thought was that Strickland removed it and then told the ADA it was there. Then my second thought was, he switched out the guns. Soothes his ego by proving he's "as smart as Perry" but also fucks over the ADA who he undoubtedly can't stand.

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain
There was also an episode that was on some Greek or Indonesian island somewhere, and they showed him shopping and buying a ton of food and then cooking it all outdoors on this big patio with the ocean/beach as the backdrop, and after cooking this enormous amount of food, including a huge octopus, he then plated it all out and set this big table. And then it just showed him sitting there at the table, alone. I'm sure the crew chowed down, but I thought it was a terribly lonely scene and I felt like at the time he must've felt really isolated/alienated.

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain
I remember watching the last episode of his tv series that was produced, and throughout the episode I'm feeling like something is really different, really strange. It took me a moment and then I realized there was none of the usual narration from him with the humorous/sarcastic quips... because he was dead.

I'll ask again: Does anyone know what's in the files Tom instructed Greg to delete?

Matthew Rhys as Perry Mason HBO
There's a reason they didn't show us that it was Strickland that broke into Mason's office. Unless they showed us the bruised fingernails and I just couldn't see that on my tv. Did they? Or conversely, did we see that the hand did not have bruised fingernails? I was certain it was heroin, too, but if it's oil leaking into farmland and poisoning crops, that's a much better job of writing.

I wish it were closer to parody than it is to real life.

I'll be happy when somebody just finally packages all these streaming services together and provides them as one product, and then perhaps does away with the need for glitchy wifi by just running it all through a cable directly to my home.

I'm looking forward to the White House Plumbers series, though I'm disappointed it looks like a comedy, which might be appropriate for the situation, given that it all fell apart and ultimately led to the resignation of a US President because of a piece of tape left over a door bolt. I read Will, LIddy's autobiography back in the 80's, and used to listen to him on talk radio back in the late 90's and I was surprised at how entertaining he was. He was supposed to play Clarence Beeks in Trading Places, but backed out when he learned that the character got buttfucked by a gorilla. So they had the dude who played the role, the Breakfast Club detention teacher dude, reading Will in a scene on the train.

He was contemplating the nature of life, humanity and death. Which wound up being a foreshadow.
