Pams grotto-HC Native American falls-SG Haw creek falls-HC Pack rat falls-HC Kings bluff-SG Pedestal rock-SG Buzzards roost-SG Six finger falls-SG Terry Keefe falls-SG Alum cove natural bridge-SG Big cave creek falls-SG—wet trails This was our list last spring break. SG is short for Sand Gap and HC is for Hurricane Creek. Those were the two places we stayed. All of these trails were incredible and off the beaten path. We saw maybe 10 other people maximum at each location. There is a ton of bang for your buck on Upper Falling Water road that runs along Falling water creek. It will be labeled at County Road 1205 in Witt County. If the creeks and rivers are running there are 5-6 cool hikes you can hit in one day there.- Arkansas/Ozarks
There are several rentals around the Ponca area. Tough to beat the Buffalo National River. Tons of hike there. Make sure to hit Whitacre Point and see the elk in Boxley. We have rented this spot: https://abnb.me/SwrPFKn8nnb . It’s in a great location to access the Ozark National Forest. This is a very underrated area of the state. No matter where you stay make sure to buy this book and bring it with: Arkansas waterfalls guidebook https://www.amazon.com/dp/1882906489/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_MG7WBYX3X17R184Q40NT . Best time to go is spring. Hiking and floating to be had everywhere. make sure to stock up on groceries and booze because all of the places worth staying or going are remote as hell and won’t have much by way of commerce. Hope this helps. We try to go at least once a year. ETA-these are North central AR recs.- Plumbing Help

I was there 12/26 and everything was excellent. Its always funny to leave there with and then drive past Pecan Lodge with a line wrapped around the building. Folks don't realize better food with no line is 1/2 mile down the street.- USMNT 2021
- Bye bye Luby's
Square fish with tartar sauce, Mac and cheese, spinach, yeast roll, and red jello. Iced tea to drink refilled by the cart lady in SAS shoes. Loved this meal once a week growing up at the Hester’s Crossing location in RR. Just the best. ETA—and the cream cheese jalapeño with the plastic sword through it. If you didn’t take a plastic sword home you didn’t eat at Luby’s!- Has anyone renewed a passport recently?
We sent ours off in June for renewal. Kids came in in August. Wife and mine arrived mid September.- Yes: Pools are worth it....
Our small 10k gallon pool was about $70 to fill from the hose. This was in Frisco in 2019.- Effing jury duty
Busted panels happen from time to time. On a felony there needs to be 32 people left after challenges for cause have been made. Each side gets 10 peremptory strikes. If there are less than 32 and no double strikes the panel is busted. This can lead to a plea or bringing in another panel. Sometimes panels are just goofy and cannot follow the law for whatever reason. Thank all of ya’ll for showing up and taking jury duty seriously.- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
I just got an email that the Ft. Worth show has moved to Billy Bobs.- Texas BBQ
Had to be in Waco today. Had Guess Family for the second time and it was fantastic.- House Flooded on vacation... Long term temp housing, and anyone else gone through this?
We had a minor flood last year. The repairs left us without a kitchen for a month. Our insurance company had a temp housing division that set us up with a nearby AirBNB. The other option was to have all meals paid for during the time without a kitchen. It was fairly painless all told.- Is there good BBQ in Ft. Worth?

We built our pool in 2019. 10k gallons, no spa, with Hayward equipment. We are on the frisco/mckinney border. I wrapped the exposed plumbing at the equipment with towels, then a large drop cloth, and covered it all with a tightly secured tarp. I pointed 2 work lights at the whole thing and prayed that freeze guard would work. Our power was off and on for around 48 hours from early Monday morning until lunchtime on Wednesday. I never broke up the ice but was vigilant making sure the water moved every time the power returned. Somehow we made it out without any issues. Our builder definitely screwed up plenty during our build and had to redo several things that were lacking but I’ll be damned if they didn’t make a pool that lived through a 100 year weather event. Watching the pool was easily the most stressful part of the entire ordeal and I plan to add other structure coverage to my homeowner policy. Had our power outages been longer than 40 minutes at a time I would have drained the equipment and crossed my fingers. - Death Valley National Park
