John Prine - RIP
I’m absolutely crestfallen. I first heard him as a five year old and it hit me like a bolt of lightening then. As a 40 year old that feeling never went away.

I picked up a preseasoned lodge carbon steel frying pan based on this thread and could not be happier. It is the best $35 I have ever spent in my kitchen.

Prine at Red Rocks with the Colorado symphony was the best show of my life.

This was incredible live. He played a bunch of older stuff that I had not heard live yet. John Prine with the Colorado symphony last night was even better, somehow.- First trip to Red Rocks - Avett Brothers 6/29
I have had the Isbell tickets for over a year. Prine rescheduled his cancelled show for the next night and I had no choice but to add a night to the trip. It should be the trip of a lifetime. We are planning to arrive at least an hour prior to doors opening. <Bart Scott.gif>- First trip to Red Rocks - Avett Brothers 6/29
I'm going for Isbell and Prine on back to back nights. Staying in downtown Golden. Is uber still the way to go or should I look for a shuttle?- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
I went last night. FJM was up first and went on a 8ish. Isbell went on at 9:45 and finished around 11. I didn’t see any of the opener and walked in a little after 8. I would be punctual.- Whistler, BC. (Summer time)
The sea to sky highway is an amazing drive. Stop in Squamish and see Shannon Falls. The peak to peak is great if you get a clear day.- Vancouver for a day or two
Eat sushi. Prepare for bad traffic. Enjoy a strong dollar. Brush up on the metric system.- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
Its the first 6 digits of a citi card and you have to pay with that card. You're great and all but I'm not giving you my card.- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
right around $20/per on mine. My 22nd row Red Rocks tickets for September were way cheaper.- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
I got two for Irving with the citcard presale. Seats were already pretty picked over and they don't go public until Friday.- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
It looks like Isbell will close the Irving show and FJM will close the Houston show.- Best closing lyric of all time
"then he cocked both his pistols, spit in the dirt, and walked out in that street..."- Ozarks (NW Ark) in March
If you will be anywhere near Boxley at dusk you can see Roosevelt elk pretty reliably of hwy 21. It’s always cool to see Ozarks elk.- Ozarks (NW Ark) in March
It will still be cool then, but not cold. Foliage definitely will not be fully in. Anywhere along the Ozarks Highlands trail is a great hike. Whitaker Point is pretty iconic in that part of the world.- Beef ribs
The new Costco in McKinney has prime beef ribs for $4.99/lb.- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
I got Red Rocks tickets this morning. Row 22.- Texas' Best Burger
New Baden General Store used to have a great burger.- Auto Service: What Would You Do?
Changing an ignition coil on an F150 takes less than 5 minutes. Its one clip for the wiring and a single screw. There is no reason to do them all at the same time. You should have just had them do the two closest to the cab (1 and 5?) and do the rest yourself. The plugs are tougher because they break way too easy in those engines. If one breaks it is a major pain in the ass.- Dallas and/or Grapevine BBQ on Sunday
Just sit at the bar at Pecan Lodge. The bartender will take your food order. Or just wait in line. It doesn't take more than 30 minutes from the street to the register. If you don't want to wait you could always eat bad food at Dickey's. There won't be a line there.- So I got a WSM...
I managed to melt the door handle on my WSM. I cooked a couple of briskets for Easter lunch and cut it too close to the time we needed to leave for church. In my hurry to pull them off I left the lid off with fuel still in the fire bowl. When I got back from church the handle had burned off the door from the inside. I ordered the Cajun Bandit replacement door with latch. Will report back with results.
