Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - I'm With Stupid
No way, only Texas loses high level players over money. This thread told me so! No other programs have these problems!

Texas Softball 2026 - Running it Back.
We will downgrade at 3B with Scott gone, but the freshman duo of Lawson/Crabtree were elite recruits. I would expect a similar season to Mia's freshman year - good at the plate, average defensively. I would assume an upgrade at 1B, defensively - loved Joley, but she had a rough time fielding her position. But we will miss her clutchness at the plate too. Hannah Wells will bring a lot of pop at the position. Don't forget Texas was a revolving door of shitty DP options all season long. The options are way better this year - Wells can DP when she pitches, 1-2 candidates depending on how the OF rotation shakes out, whoever loses the 3B battle between Crabtree/Lawson. I swear to God, if I have to see Vic Hunter take another swing at DP in a close game, I am going to break my TV. High hopes that EE can get the offspeed timing for our hitters going good again. He is an elite hitting coach. TK is obviously the ace, but it is hard to overstate how much improved Cam was by the postseason. Think she slots in at #2 and Citlaly at #3, with Brenlee as the change of pace lefty we have all been dying for. Not sure how much Wells will pitch in her freshman year while she acclimates to high level hitting, while also playing 1B/DP. Here's hoping Citlaly has a bounce back season. Our OF situation is very interesting - we basically have 4 true outfielders and Stewie for 3 positions. Maloney and Henry seem like they'll have their positions locked down as multiyear starters, but then you have Stewie, Sneed and Altmeyer for that last spot. Sneed's bat was so good in the fall. Vivi was injured in fall ball 2024 - she's had over a year to recover, and there was a brief time heading into the postseason that Mike said she could play if they needed her, but he wasn't going to burn her medical redshirt.

Texas WBB 2025-26: Return to the Final Four
Per his own quote, if you say 6-8, he's hanging onto 6 weeks. Glad to see everything is healed and she's close to a return. Better to have her healthy later than bring her back too soon. (Can I selfishly pray for a return by Sunday?)

No official ones yet - a lot of the unofficial ones so far (aka, I do have a vote and here's my preseason ballot types) have Texas or Tech first and OU third. In theory, Texas would be #1 on the basis of being the defending champs, but Tech brought in the top portal class, while Texas brought in a better recruiting class (though our transfer portal trio of Gonzales, Anderson and Altmeyer addressed some needs) and gets their stud SS back from injury. OU still has a good offense but reloaded in the circle with Berzon from LSU and Guachino from Ole Miss.

Good/great/elite teams know how to squeak out wins sometimes. Not like Indiana has a * next to their win over PSU because they barely won.

100%, they either need a union/CBA or this will continue. And Cody Campbell and his sycophants in Congress are not going to let that happen.

Texas WBB 2025-26: Return to the Final Four
Life without Juju, man - Oregon knocked off #22 USC last night. Arizona also knocked off (RV) BYU, who got some votes after knocking off undefeated ASU over the weekend #17 Tech is at (RV) West Virginia tonight Tomorrow: Auburn @ #2 Texas #18 Ole Miss @ #5 OU #15 Michigan State @ #23 Washington #12 LSU @ Georgia (we know from experience last year that Georgia can turn games into rock fights and LSU can't rebound)

Disagree. They were awful and putting Mendoza on that team with a lame duck HC (whether fired next year or retires) seems the best way to fuck over your #1 draft pick - thrown the wolves by an inept coaching staff and then likely starting all over with a new staff and system in 2027. Pair him in his first year with a young coach with an offensive background, along with Jeanty and Bowers, and you may be able to cook something up. Of course, you have to contend with LAC, DEN and KC in your division, but other teams have figured it out without relying on a 74 year old coach.
