Sugar Bowl 2025
It's just too damn bad that Etienne never learned how to pass protect.

Well, you're finally seeing that SEC like to shit on each other. That doesn't take away from how the B1G fans try to create their own narrative.

I think it's doubling up now. Texas + SEC. In-game hot takes have been off the charts this bowl season trying to create a narrative of the SEC not earning their place. It honestly reminds me of the concerted effort to push The Alliance™ as B1G saving college football from the evil SEC.

Definitely felt like when the momentum was shifting that aside from some stupid penalties by Texas, the refs were going out of their way to ignore some for ASU. I was surprised that they opted to not call targeting for that wrap-up on ASU's last drive in regulation.- Deion Sanders "Coach Prime" Now At Colorado

Well, our season is over and the "nothing happens in a bubble" couldn't be more true. Napier did in fact lose the team and the recruiting class if news reports were to be believed in September. Remember that he allegedly got in a fight with Albert? But then he didn't lose the team and the recruiting class recovered. I don't think many people expected 7-5 regular season when looking at the schedule. Even though the schedule is just as tough next year, I think most people will have higher expectations.- SEC Catch-all Thread
I didn't realize that you split up the Michigan game... or was that part of the network negotiation to get out of the Big 12?- SEC Catch-all Thread
Florida: 8/30 - Long Island 9/6 - USF 9/13 - at LSU 9/20 - at Miami 9/27 - bye 10/4 - Texas 10/11 - at A&M 10/18 - MSU 10/25 - bye 11/1 - UGA 11/8 - at UK 11/15 - at Ole Miss 11/22 - Tennessee 11/29 - FSU- Eight or Nine Game SEC Schedule
Probably you are counting the 2011 and 2012 bridge schedules with your numbers as well as additional games added in 2020 and that the rotation ended 2 years early because of expanding to 16. Florida, like Georgia, was scheduled to play A&M just twice during the 2014-2025 rotation. They played in 2017 and 2022. A&M was also added as a bridge schedule game in 2012 before the rotation was put into place and as one of the two additional games added on top of the rotation in 2020 to go to a 10 game schedule Georgia was scheduled to play A&M in 2019 and 2024. They only played 1 time because the rotation was ended 2 years early. A 12 year rotation to play just 2 times sucks no matter how you slice it. UGA/A&M just stands out because the rotation ended 2 years early plus they never were added during the years pre- or post-rotation or COVID. One reason I really want us to go to a 9 game 3/6 rotation.- Florida Gators
Yeah. I'm optimistic. I haven't seen any Gator starters sitting out the bowl yet. No idea what to expect on the other side. Tulane's QB entered the portal yesterday.- Florida Gators
So apparently, the Gator Bowl wanted Florida and visa versa but Alabama missing the CFP started a chain reaction. Citrus took USC over Bama and Ole Miss. Bama goes to Reliaquist (Tampa/Outback). Liberty wanted Mizzou or Ole Miss because of proximity but neither wanted Liberty because of stadium construction. SEC overruled Gator and sent Ole Miss there. Gator is unhappy because they don't expect Ole Miss fans to travel. SEC bumped Arkansas up into the Tier 1 group because Liberty wanted a closer team. Florida was satisfied at taking the Gasparilla for easy travel even though it was a step down.- Eight or Nine Game SEC Schedule
It didn't even make sense as they have typically played just one P5 team OOC because they don't have a permanent OOC rival. Starting next year, they have two P5 teams OOC each year, but not this year.- Eight or Nine Game SEC Schedule
They didn't do whatever. They followed the structure for 10 of the 12 years until Texas and Oklahoma joined forcing the rotation to end early. And no doubt that 2 games in 12 years sucked ass. It's one of the reasons they pushed the NCAA to end divisional requirements.- Eight or Nine Game SEC Schedule
There was, in fact, a rotation/structure. But since they had to maintain divisions with a 14 team conference, it was a 12 year rotation that had two bridge schedules in 2012 and 2013 before it started was set up for 2014-2025 https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/sec-releases-future-schedule-rotations-until-2025/ And just at the time that UGA and A&M were supposed to play their second game, Texas and OU joined which the caused two more bridge schedules in 2024 and 2025 cutting the original rotation 2 years short. Of course, they did weird things with the bridge schedules... like Florida/A&M was scheduled in 3 of the 4 bridge schedules as well as added to the 10 game conference schedule in 2020, so counting next season, we will have played the Aggies 6 times since 2012.- Florida Gators
Well, it's official. vs. Tulane Hopefully the team takes it seriously and isn't annoyed that we were bumped down to a 6-6 bowl and expect to sleepwalk through it. https://floridagators.com/news/2024/12/8/football-gators-headed-to-union-home-mortgage-gasparilla-bowl-for-matchup-against-tulane.aspx- Florida Gators
We may have been jumped by Arkansas, but if so, they're playing in Memphis and we're playing in Tampa. I can't complain.- Florida Gators
Apparently, we're playing in the Gasparilla bowl. I thought we had played ourselves up into the Tier 1 bowl rotation of 6.- 2024 CFP Selection Show Thread - 11am on ESPN

This. Just the fact that the rules for FSU's sod cemetery specify it must be a win over a ranked opponent as an underdog or any win in Gainesville. So yes, last year when 11-0 FSU beat 5-6 Florida in Gainesville, it was worthy of putting it amongst their greatest road wins. And in 2022, when 8-3 FSU beat 6-5 Florida in Tallahassee, the students rushed the field. This whole business with leaving the ACC, the attitude amongst their fans has been heavily that it's UF's fault that FSU never got into the SEC even though UF sponsored them since the 1960s and it was FSU that chose to not join the SEC in 1990 when given the chance as they saw it as an opportunity to leapfrog UF by getting to be a big fish in a storm puddle rather than having to play ranked SEC teams every year.- Things Lil’ Brothers Do
The Buckman Act in 1905 consolidated the existing schools to create 3 universities in Florida, which made UF the flagship university for White males and was moved to Gainesville. What would become FSU was a women's college until the 1950s so historically, they have always been way behind UF academically, athletically, and based on state resources. - REF assignments
