  1. Fair enough. They're live updates is pretty good, but it's tucked away, am I'm not sure if that is what you mean. I didn't see stories splashed all over their page. There is one about how it may hurt Nissan's numbers, and one about how China has changed how they are reporting numbers. That is all I saw.
  2. It's amazing to me that with all the events happening at once CNN's article about coronavirus today is "What's spreading faster than coronavirus in the US? Racist assaults and ignorant attacks against Asians". Iran could be at the beginning of a major catastrophe, South Korea is starting to lock down cities, there seems to be outbreaks in North Korea. and this is your main story on COVID-19?
  3. Twitter reports have 9 dead in Iran, though officially they're only reporting two. Also one Canadian came down with it after visiting Iran. Last week they also held their revolutionary day parades where millions were asked to come out and support the regime. At the time the public didn't know there was a threat. This is not going to be good.
  4. That is good news. I'm sure they have been through quite an ordeal. Safe travels for them
  5. Twitter reports of maybe 5 more dead in Qom, Iran and police imposing quarantine/blockade
  6. As opposed to major news outlets that blindly repost Chinese numbers without even asking if they are correct?
  7. I know a couple of us have felt the news on the coronavirus from the major outlets has been subpar at best. I rarely see CNN, FOX News or MSNBC even talking about it in passing. When an article pops up on CNN it's usually about why the Flu is more deadly. I have seen some good stuff out of NYT and WP. but most of the time they are still using official Chinese numbers to draw their conclusions. I'm sure tomorrow there will be articles about COVID19 slowing down, though all evidence, other than Chinese released numbers, points to the contrary. I have felt that no tough questions were asked initially on why China was going to extreme lengths to stop it and I haven't seen much evidence of investigative journalism since. Anyway, I thought this article on zerohedge was interesting. 10 Very Important Questions That The Mainstream Media Should Be Asking About This Coronavirus Outbreak https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/10-very-important-questions-mainstream-media-should-be-asking-about-coronavirus
  8. Yeah, I don't get what is going on. How is fucking Carnival Cruise Lines up 3/4 of a percent today? It's up in premarket too. Apple barely lost anything which seems about right. iPhones aren't a big part of their business model.
  9. Yeah, it cost $500 million to build so I don't think Carnival will scuttle it or whatever they do with cursed cruise liners.
  10. Maybe their planking? Seriously, this looks like a regular block. One block and maybe 20+ bodies. I don't know what proof needs to be out there that the numbers are much, much higher. But tomorrow, the Chinese government will post their official results, and media outlets will claim we're winning.
  11. In the kid's defense, he spat on the cop after he got thrown to the ground twice but security guards. Charges against kid need to be dropped and kid's family needs a nice check.
  12. I think he pushes his mom in the back, and fat security mall cop gets bent out of shape.
  13. Also the site of Tesla's gigafactory, but the stock still over $800 because of paradigm shifts and whatnot.
  14. I think there is some compelling evidence that they are only counting a fraction of the deaths
  15. I don't think anyone is really going back to work from what I saw on BBC this morning. Seemed more like PR to keep investors happy. At least some of those that did are in quarantine at work now, so maybe the few that went in call in sick tomorrow.
  16. Yeah, I've seen quite a bit about viruses not being able to transmit well in hotter, wetter climates. However, I wonder how much air conditioning would factor in to those estimates. Almost all places where people live and congregate are now air conditioned, even in poorer countries.
  17. TLDW: this relatively smaller funeral home took in 127 bodies yesterday and cremated 116. This is 4 to 5 times their normal number of cremations. Thanks New Tang Dynasty Television for actually doing some digging.
  18. I agree with you. The Coronavirus seems like it would be a 24 hour news outlet's wet dream. I don't know that I've ever seen a series of stories more captivating. It's something straight out of a horror movie. So many different angles both in the US and abroad, but I've barely seen any coverage on any of the dedicated domestic news channels. It's sad when the best news outlet on what is happening in China is fucking twitter.
  19. It seems like there is a high number of bad new reports that are coming out this morning. This includes the WHO stating the coronavirus now poses a grave threat to the world, the super spreader Brit, and a NYT article about how the virus is spreading through apartment building pipes in Hong Kong. China has done a pretty good job of managing information, and outside a few outlets, no one has really questioned what's really going on over there. I think once this pops in Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong, they will be pushing information because they will need help. So far the U.S. market hasn't really responded to economic problems, we'll see how it responds to fear.
  20. I'm not sure what this means, but I agree 100%
  21. This team is just the worst.
  22. This team does seem to be improving
