  1. Fighting Biting Knee Caps! Ive been a fan of the insane Dan Campbell for a while and root for him to have some success.
  2. Following. We paid extra when we had the house built and forced them to accommodate us to have St Augustine because to us Bermuda is just ugly and chintzy and more allergenic. That said we have the rain bird set 3x a day to keep it green or else it will fry. Am following this thread to see how I can better manage it; have wasted money on various yard management scams (TruGreen, etc.) and feel like they are worthless.
  3. History and Geography knowledge in today's kids, from an anecdotal perspective, is woeful.
  4. This is savage and hilarious. And I've lived this too, it's brutal.
  5. I definitely get that value of a degree has been diminished over the last, what, 20 years. And there are definitely value considerations and calculations to have before just getting any Tom, Dick, and Harry degree for exorbitant amount of money at Regional-For-Profit University online. But can we all agree that this might be an overcorrection (from NYT, linked below) I don't know if these kids are thinking they can just set up a a camera and halo light, do the Gen-Z shake, and influence their way to riches, but when the average college graduate can't buy a house or save for retirement, how is a HS diploma all you need to ensure financial security? https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/05/magazine/college-worth-price.html
  6. 6 minutes and 46 seconds, let's go!
  7. Price of oil due to OPEC cuts estimated to get potentially as high as $100, and with rising fuel costs, etc. the hawks think the interest rates are going to continue to go up. Why can't we quit this transitory inflation!?!
  8. Saw Enbridge bought someone for $14bn today. Also, from the NYT thought this was interesting on higher gas prices due to production cuts from OPEC: For the Biden administration, “the only thing they can pretty much do to counteract Saudi cuts is to bring more oil into the market from other countries,” León said. “Iran and Venezuela are the best candidates,” he added, even if it’s politically unpalatable to fully reopen talks with them.
  9. Every time I finish a New Yorker crossword puzzle they have awesome little one panel cartoons @RDCanecutter
  10. Not sure what the pager comment mean, just found it interesting as a running-tab to see how your prediction about Netflix is going, which was for posterity sake:
  11. And I thought that Veritas was trying to monetize an art exhibition by a New Mexican whose flowers all look suspiciously...sapphic, let's call it.
  12. That was a very funny clip, thanks for sharing @Captain Ron As for this, @henrygandorf What is your take? Considering you have been very vocal about Netflix not surviving the next few years/short term?
  13. We will win tonight.
  14. What's up with Jonah? He certainly hasn't been the pre-injury Jonah that we need.
  15. I mean, it was hilarious. But also kinda rocked. good video production 10/10
  16. I wonder if DAC and Buffett ever came to a peace after the latter sued the former, but it spawned the greatest tribute song of Jimmy Buffett:
  17. That's interesting, all the usual suspects covering this have been "diplomatic" about his cause of death, let's call it. e.g. AP, People, etc.
  18. Where are you reading he had wet brain and even that he died of liver failure? Everything I've read has glossed over details. Can you link?
  19. Funny aside, I use Gen Z slang like Rizz around my teens and they now can't stand it.
  20. Stat: Hollywood’s writers have been on strike for 127 days, and actors joined them on the picket line in July. With no resolution in sight, the shutdown of the film and television industry has already deprived California’s economy of almost $5 billion, according to one recent estimate. The Milken Institute’s Kevin Klowden, who came up with the figure, told the Financial Times it’s because other businesses that serve the industry, like caterers, rental companies, and even dry cleaners, have also taken a hit from the work stoppage. That’s already more than the $2.1 billion the think tank believes the 2007 writers strike, which lasted 100 days, cost the state.
  21. You know the old saying, you can’t out run a bad diet? You can’t out-hit bad pitching. It’s that simple.
  22. Not a big Josh Smith fan lately
  23. You absolutely should be grateful for what you have and don’t worry about what other people have. That’s like top 10 fundamental teachings to our kids.
