I just picked up the OF Rye the other day and am already a 1/3 of the way through. Love this stuff. I'd give it a solid 8.5 (9 when you take into consideration how cheap it is). My only complaint is how thin it is. Would love it even more if it was more oily.
Total wine had Willet 4 year for $39 (Limit 1). Best price Ive ever seen it at.
Also picked up Old Forester Rye for the first time. It's incredible can't believe it's price point.
For cheap Tex Mex it's hard to go wrong with Chuy's. Dos Salsas is also good (huge restaurant and drinks), but I dont think their food is that great personally. There's also a torchys almost next door. Theres a bunch of smaller places but those are the bigger 3. A great texmex spot in Cedar Park/Leander would kill.
I've got both a bigtooth and a shantung. The bigtooth looks better to me, but was half as small and 2x as expensive (from the same nursery). The shantung also seems more hardy.
For what it's worth, I planted a bunch of Lacey Oaks. One of my favorite smaller oak trees. Look like a mini white oak.
Ha I remember all the butt hurt when we hired him "R-red McCombs is just r-racist guys. Just watch..no more blowouts like Mack we're gonna be in every game!"
We proceeded to get BOTH our scoreboard and assholes blown out even worse than Mack. Fuck him.
Love WT101. Always drinks smooth, and taste different--has that sour yeasty taste. But I always get tired of it after an entire bottle until I eventually come back to it. Either way, I'd take it all day over regular Buffalo Trace (which I think has too much ethanol).
WT101 and EH Taylor small batch and my favorite under $35 whiskeys. Taste 2x as expensive.
Well went back today for another bottle of the willet 4 yr rye (were 6 more yesterday) and they were all gone.
Ended up w a bottle Yippee Ki Yay for $65. Been wanting to try and am a sucker for finished whiskey.
