  1. That was absolute drivel. They check in with Chip Brown who tells them that our LT can't block, Arch is scared, their Big 12 running back room is actually as good as the two NFL players and we'll be lucky to score a point. The insider who said the OSU roster might be deeper should be checked into a fuckin mental institution. They lost 14 guys to the draft! All the key contributors on this year's team were on that team last year!
  2. It is so crazy to me that Auburn put together a very good roster, including an elite WR room, and then went and got Jackson Arnold to QB the team. They couldn't moneywhip Duke and get Mensah? Or Indiana for Mendoza? I'm sure those guys got massive offers, but if you're going to spend a boatload on Eric Singleton Jr. you should probably get a guy who can throw him the ball. The thing that gives me pause is that in most Auburn games, I handicap a big coaching edge for whoever is going up against Huge Freeze. Aranda is one of the guys that I don't think has a sizable edge on him. Ultimately, I'm taking Baylor to win straight up.
  3. Incredible point.
  4. Right, Paterno is at the top of this list for me. Briles is about as bad as it gets, but he was a sociopath dead set on winning games. Paterno knew about Sandusky in 2002 and was also aware that Sandusky was deeply involved in a program for underprivileged youth for YEARS after that. There wasn't even a winning incentive there. It's obviously tough to rank these guys because they're all scumbags, but Paterno acting like the fucking pope the whole time makes my skin crawl.
  5. I am aware of that, they ended up in the same recruiting class and Smith was rated significantly higher. He was viewed as a generational prospect.
  6. Smith was the consensus #1 player in the country, so this is absolutely not true.
  7. The posts a few pages back where they're talking about how the defense will improve are gold. They hand wave the loss of their entire defensive line, including three guys taken in the first two rounds of the draft, because Elko is calling the defense! As head coach, he obviously wasn't allowed much input last year leading to mediocre results. Sure, they only return one all conference player, but Taurean York is basically Ray Lewis and don't forget about Scooby. The defense becoming elite through use of Elko's brain is obviously important because this is probably the #1 offense in the country with Lamar Jackson at QB and Ashton Justin-Jefferson at WR. Truly the only thing that can stop the Ags this year is the refs and the vast and ongoing conspiracy against them and in favor of sippy.
  8. I wouldn't be shocked if they lost two of LSU, @Louisville and @South Carolina. I get that the Clemson offense should be very good and they certainly have a lot of defensive players getting NFL buzz. The thing is their defense wasn't any good last year. The freshman Louisville tailback absolutely diced them and Sellers ran for 170 yards. I guess the theory is that Tom Allen is just that big of an upgrade on Wes Goodwin.
  9. They are legit special needs adults on there. I always feel kind of bad for Bobby and Gerry since they have to interact with them and pretend to take them seriously.
  10. Feel like this has been discussed, but the Rice transfer getting beat out by a guard at LT and now being in a battle for the RT job is such a bad sign for OSU. On top of that, they lose two all world RBs, without replacing them with anyone near that caliber and a physical, experienced QB who was a run threat. Oh and they also lose Chip Kelly, who probably overcomes lesser OL talent through run blocking schemes better than anyone in football. I would not want to open against this Texas front 7 with all of the foregoing.
  11. Thank you! That looks like a great spot, I'll probably end up there.
  12. Ha, I've done it in the past at other away games and been fine. I'm pretty good at conflict de-escalation, but the way y'all are talking about Columbus is certainly making me think twice.
  13. Anyone familiar with Columbus know of good bars to watch the rest of the CFB slate after we emasculate the whole state of Ohio? Looks to be plenty of sports bars, but I'd prefer not to be surrounded by midwestern townies.
  14. Kentucky's starting QB is Zach Calzada and they lost basically every difference maker on their terrible 4-8 team from last year. We win that game even if we sleepwalk it.
  15. Under no circumstances are we losing to Kentucky. I'm including circumstances where we lose our three deep at QB and Colin Simmons gets caught robbing a bank. I would actually be very surprised if we lost a trap game this year. If we beat Ohio State, I expect us to go 11-1, unless we have terrible injury luck. I build in one loss for @Georgia or @Florida, although I'm confident that we will be better than both of those teams.
  16. Baxter ready to go against Ohio State is really impactful, even if he’s not fully back athletically. He’s such a good pass blocker and catcher, plus he can actually run between the tackles. Opens up so much on offense.
  17. However poor they are financially, they are infinitely more poor morally and spiritually.
  18. I think what you should do in this situation is stop listening to and reading content from that fat sloppy pig Ari Wasserman.
  19. With Burton caping for Alan Jagson, I'm officially a believer. I look forward to watching him moss Caleb Downs for a 35 yard TD pass in Columbus and celebrate with an air guitar.
  20. TBD until we see results on the field, but Emaree Winston has to be one of the most surprising recruits in a while. We were all completely ambivalent as to whether he ended up in the class. Early returns on him and Townsend are great to hear given where we're at in the 2026 class. On the other hand, reading between the lines on Lockett/Ffrench, it sounds a bit concerning. Bobby/Gerry didn't talk about them as instant contributors during the recruiting process, but you'd like to hear better things from recruits of their stature. Particularly because the seem to be well behind McCutcheon and it's not like they're hyping him up as a future Day One draft pick. I'd trade all three of those guys for DK Moore.
  21. Strong analysis, absolutely no difference between subpar QB play and good QB play.
  22. Spoilered some discussion on the Ohio State 247 page regarding their QB battle. Their mods have been consistently lukewarm on Sayin coming out of spring and they talk about Kienholz like he's a game manager JAG. All very heartening.
  23. Dante Moore is small, not particularly mobile and doesn’t have a strong arm. He’s pretty accurate in the short and intermediate, so I think he’ll largely look alright since the Oregon offense is gimmicky and doesn’t require a ton of big time throws. I expect he’ll struggle against Penn State and maybe IU and look pretty good against overmatched competition. I don’t think Oregon is a real threat this year.
  24. It does seem like they're attempting to build what is essentially a souped up Big 12 team. I feel like I've posted a few variations of this, but it's just so shocking to me that the powers that be at OU were fooled by such an obvious charlatan. If you take the teams that are perceived as effectively deploying the "identify underrecruited three stars", say KSU, ISU and Rhule Baylor, they typically produce 2-5 NFL draft picks annually, including 1-2 first round picks per decade. Oh and also they quite literally never contend for national championships. Nagy claims they can contend for national championships using this strategy. Let's take a look at NFL draft results for recent national champions: OSU '25: 14 draft picks (7 in the first two rounds) Michigan'24: 13 draft picks (3 in the first two rounds) Georgia '23: 10 draft picks (3 in the first two rounds) Georgia '22: 15 draft picks (7 in the first two rounds) Alabama '21: 10 draft picks (8 in the first two rounds) Of course that only includes draft eligible players, if you look at draft results the year after a national championship, it's usually a pretty similar picture. So basically what Nagy is selling is that he can double the hit rate of the very best talent identifiers AND talent developers every single year because... he learned so much watching pro bowls? No one has ever tried deploying this strategy at a blue chip school? Just trust me bro?
