- Residing my House Advice
1 story, chimney in siding. Not a big house, only 1300ish sqft. All siding on 3 sides, brick veneer on most of the front except in the roof gables. Probably would need the soffit and fascia too. PM me with what other info you need and I'll send some photos. Non-profit worker here so I'll need you to throw some rough numbers at it before anything.- Residing my House Advice
Bought my house in Round Rock for about $25K under market knowing it needed to be fully resided. Wife took the kids to the in-laws for the next few weeks and I'm thinking I'll just get it done. I have an in with the McCoy's Building Supply family that gets me 40% off building materials, so I just need the labor and material haul off. Anyone have good experience or connections in that line of work?- Surly official camping and backpacking thread
Taking the wife, 3 and 1 year old girls, and my pops for a weekend in Lost Maples... No idea how this is going to go, but I need camping back in my life. Went from a monthly backpacker to basically nothing in 3 years (except by myself when the missus takes the gremlins back to WV for a few weeks) LM is my favorite Texas park, and the primitive sites in the valley are an easy mile hike in from the parking lot. Any advice on making this a non miserable experience for all involved?- 2018 thread of gardening like a boss
Thanks for the insight yall Ordered the serenade fungicide, will pick those plants clean tomorrow morning- 2018 thread of gardening like a boss

Just saw the official thread, delete thread, ban user- Camping Thread
Where is everyone's favorite place to camp (car, backpacking, pop up campers, whatever floats your boat). Lost Maples was my first solo backpacking trip back when I was 19 or 20, and I've been back maybe a dozen times since.- Irish Whiskey
Kilbeggan's was pretty popular amongst the locals when I lived in Westmeath, but I didn't drink much beyond beer so I can't vouch much beyond that.- Dublin/Ireland
If you're into authentic trad music in Galway go upstairs in The Crane Bar, and there generally something real going down. My advice on Ireland is always to spend as much time outside of the cities as possible. Rural irish folk are simply the best people I've ever spent time with.- Are you going to hell?
Wait... you mean this period of Texas Sports ISNT hell?- All Encompassing Mortgage and Real Estate Thread
Any advice at buying land and building on it, particularly in the Elgin area? Where to look for decent deals, is an agent a good idea, dos and don'ts of land buy and builds. Anything that might be relevant. Probably a year or so out still. Wife is from Rural WV so she'll be more at home in a smaller town, particularly raising our kids (currently 1 and 3) in an actual community not a burb. I work in way East Austin anyways, and we're thinking of trying to fix up and rent out our current place in Round Rock. May have to sell for capital reasons though depending on options available out there.- Scotch
$60 for Lagavulin is pretty much what I paid at the duty free in Edinburgh. Is that a 512 costco perchance? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- The Robert Mueller Investigation

Berman was recused from this deal due to his relationship with Guiliani which lead to: On January 5, 2018 interim United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman named Khuzami as Deputy US Attorney for Manhattan. Khuzami was selected to serve as Enforcement Director by Mary Schapiro, the SEC Chairman appointed by Democratic President Barack Obama, he also spoke before the 2004 Republican National Convention on behalf of then-president George W. Bush for the extension of the Patriot Act. On April 28, 2005, he testified before the United States House of Representatives Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security in support of the reauthorization of the Patriot Act. He also donated to the presidential campaign of John McCain.- Weird Tales: Fantasy/Science Fiction reads
Urban fantasy Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher has been mostly better as it’s progressed, with a big leap at about book 3 or 4. Been a gap since his last one though going on 4 years now. Hopefully it doesn’t peter out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- Non-Fiction thread
I’m on a kick of non-fiction right now. Just started reading a book on the history/purposes of the drug war and a differing perspective on dealing with drug addiction called “Chasing the Scream” by Johann Hari, if it’s worthwhile I’ll probably make a follow up thread What’s something non-fiction you’ve read or are reading that is worth sharing?
