  1. "...I expected it to be unconventional. But it was so much worse than that. In more than a decade working on elections, audits and recounts across the country, I’ve never seen one this mismanaged." "Audits are supposed to make us better. They are supposed to make our elections more secure and transparent — to strengthen the public’s trust in our democratic process. Maricopa County is known for having some of the best election practices in the country: Officials had already undertaken a hand-count audit and a forensic audit of their 2020 ballots and found no evidence of fraud. Now a group with no expertise, improvising procedures as they go, is sowing doubt about the outcome of a well-run election. This is not an audit, and I don’t see how this can have a good outcome."
  2. Ah, this makes me feel better: https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/05/19/gop-arizona-election-audit/
  3. Maricopa County's reply to the "audit." It's a darn good read.

  5. Whose gonna stop me? Not me!
  6. Apologies in advance is this off topic. Is "tailgating" allowed before the Orange-White game?

    Turnt 60 last October....
  8. OU's twitter feed tells me that Texas swept the match.
  9. How embarrassing. OU Volleyball's twitter account is at least providing some semblance of coverage. Texas takes Set 2 25 - 22. Texas up 2 - 0. CDC? You there?
  10. Is there any coverage of today's game against ou? Stats tracker, that sort of thing?
  11. I feel the 5G trackers coursing through my veins!!!! Got me some Moderna this afternoon.
  12. Talkers, singers, and documentarians. Specific example: The EXTREMELY drunk couple at the Chris Cornell solo (acoustic) show at the Paramount a few years back. They insisted on (drunkenly) singing every single song at the top of their drunk asses AFTER he requested audience silence. APD finally hauled them off.
  13. It may have been progressive, but Tyler and TISD didn't give up the confederate symbols (Rebel mascot, Confederate flags, ‘Dixie’ fight song, Rebelettes drill team, and other Confederate symbols) willingly. They did so under order of the TEA in 1972. An excellent timeline is available here: https://thetylerloop.com/robert-e-lee-high-school-race-and-segregation-in-tyler-a-130-year-timeline/ As an aside, my infinitely better half is really enamored of living there (we live in Austin). We've got family, friends, and it's much more livable than in the dark ages when I grew up there.
  14. Tyler Lee class of '79 here. That name change was loooooong overdue. I haven't lived there since HS graduation. It's pretty there, the people are nice (except when they're not), it's more Mississippi than Texas.
  15. I've given up on the mega-festivals for the many reasons detailed above. I am, however, digging the "boutique" festivals. UTOPiAfest, Music on the Mothership, that sort of thing.
  16. I'm there dude. I'm there.
