How to Buy a 5-Star Recruit: The Demond Demas Saga
This. The Chronicle article said apartment with Grandpa. Mama Dunn says en casa de Dunn. That seems like a big detail to get wrong in a story about relocating a kid to a safer home.

Jimbo 2020: Strangers with Candi
I can’t imagine there was any money received by Whitfield from the Dunns, nor any agreement that Whitfield would package the players in return.

The nicknames could be on the capes on the defensive recruits. Not sure what to do if ATH guys are aren’t projecting clearly as O or D.

One thought: Have a panel of our self-appointed surly recruiting experts rate them on floor (not ready, contributor, star, e.g.), ceiling, and overall take urgency (pass, depth, take, hold a spot, e.g.). Assign numeric values to the ratings.

Jimbo 2020: Strangers with Candi
Okafor 277 Braun 442 Kerstetter 619 Shack 1050 Cosmi 1123 The median rank for them (981) and us (619) are comparable. I think we can agree that they are helped less protecting their passer with their #1 rated guy at #15 Green than we are with our lowest rated, #1123 Cosmi.

Jimbo 2020: Strangers with Candi
Yeah, I think that .8958 phenom won't be there to help aggy until 2021 at the earliest-- you know, after the next natty.

Jimbo 2020: Strangers with Candi
Aggy is 1-6 against each of LSU and Bama, 0-0 against UGA since joining the SEC. Using 1 in 7 as a probability for winning any given tough game seems fair. They are 28-14 against the rest of the conference. Using 2/3 as a probability seems a bit (not un)fairly harsh, so let's assign a probability with only half the chance of a loss: 5/6. Obviously this involves some generalization and a few other assumptions, but that would put the likelihood of beating all the (conference) weak sisters at 40%, compared to that of losing to all the better teams of 54%. If one uses the historically documented 2/3 figure, that 40% drops to 13%

AP Top 25
Here is Hinton's composite. Note that he has us at 13, behind aggy and Auburn, to name a couple. We should save these and the S&P+ for comparison to final standings to see who is best at predicting CFB: GAs working for FB coaches, hacks working for newspapers, or would-be statisticians who combined Microsoft Excel with recent years' box scores.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2020
Will probably be a natural leader of whatever team he happens to be on this year-- he may even already have an idea who it will be.

Hugh Freeze Auburn Football
The whole thing sounds odd. He might have had discitis with a big abscess (spine infection) that was thought for a while to be run of the mill back pain. The verbiage about how it "could have gone to his heart" is boilerplate; any infection could spread to the heart, but it sounds like this one did not. It is also possible to have back pain, "self medicate," and get infection at the "treatment" site. That is actually a more common problem, but not one you want to accuse someone of having without some evidence.

Cedric Benson has passed away - RIP 🤘
Happened to me (car pulled into my path) about 20 years ago. Spent 7 weeks in the hospital, but with good care and by the grace of God got back into one piece. Never got back on one. R I P Ced— touched many peoples’ lives.

Congrats Garrett Gilbert - Signed as backup QB for Cleveland Browns
That’s a garbage take. It’s not like the university raped him. Dude had a HFC on the down slide but was given the chance to play for the NC. Any alumnus who is in the horns down club can go sit in the corner til he gets his head out of his ass.

Jimbo 2021: Meemaw's Got a Brand New Bag
Aggy would be thrilled to share their wives with flip their 5* QB recruit to Bama. It’s what a coattail-riding cuck program lives for.

2020 WR Quentin Johnston
18 was great but, in part due to unforeseeable circumstance, didn’t address needs at RB or LB as well as might be desired. It remains to be seen how well those future classes will ultimately round out all positions.

2019 Texas injury and illness
MRI can show interrupted or elongated fibers and increased signal on T2 when there is edema or hematoma. Grade 1 may not even show up. Grade 2 will have some changes but show at least some fibers in continuity. Grade 3 will look bad.
