  1. Flea flicker fumble lost for a TD.
  2. This game is a beating so far and all these commercials make it so much worse than it needs to be.
  3. They changed stations on me and I missed that series.
  4. My model: Troy -3 49.5 Vegas Open: Troy -3 51.5 Currently: Troy -2.5 46.5
  5. Boise State was #9 going into the Fiesta Bowl and was +7.5 Utah was #7 going into the Sugar Bowl vs Bama and was +9.5 I think people look back and misremember these being massive upsets when they really were pretty standard upsets. And both those teams would have made a "best 12" playoff.

He's thinking about Mosley because that's the only way his post makes any sense.
  7. I think BYU had one the top SoS in the B12, but for league play only they are middle of the pack.
  8. In basketball, we crown a tourney champion more than the best team. BCS/CFP and Omaha have always been treated a bit more seriously. Also, just the sport won't let it be that way. 20-pt dogs in football win about 3% of the time, and when they do we scoff at the loser moreso than think the winner had a good run.

I bet some of the motivation is more focus on football and more practice time.
  10. Now imagine you are aggy and that money pays for Jimbo's retirement. But seriously that's 80% of schools, college down to Pre K. Very few athletic programs make money.
  11. Playing football is for winning.
  12. Him or Larry Porter are the best RB coaches in the country. I don't think Dell McGee would take a position spot, even at Texas. Maybe that guy at North Texas has something, but shorter track record.
  13. I turned it off at half. Glad to see I'm not missing anything
  14. Paul Atriedes is a terrible nickname.

500 Also, anyone know what Razzle Dazzle is?
  16. If Miami stops the A&M run game (which they seem fully capable of), A&M will struggle hard. Bama was honestly the better team the first time they played OU. OU had an 80-yard interception return, fumble, and punt return that set up their scores. Pretty sure the result flips.
  17. Alabama, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, USC Who is and isn't a blueblood isn't up for debate. Every fan who disagrees is just jealous that they aren't one.
  18. Not sure Burke benefits from more film as much as as he would from 10 extra pounds.

Where do you live that it is not politically correct? Like...I understand why people would find the game name offensive, but it's a pretty PC term overall.
  20. JBJ replied to SDG's topic in Football
For every obscure reference you can cite I can find thousands in pipular publications proving itherwise, but I'm not going to argue with someone who wants to be wrong because he's politically influenced.

You are just wrong on this. It occassionally was used to describe homosexuals before WWII, sometimes pergerotively, but it is still in the context of the original meaning - being odd or different. If they wanted to specifically target homosexuals, they would have named it Bury the Fairy. It wasn't common usage in gay communities until the 60s and didn't really go mainstream popularized until really the 80s. And like "gay" it didn't necessarily have a negative connotation until the association became widespread. You are far more likely to find a old news article celebrating the opening of a queer bar as something new and exciting than something for homosexuals.

Smear the queer was a game long before homosexuals started using the word to self-identify. So, no, it hasn't "always been homophobic."
