  1. So now that OL is settled...a developmental WR and a(nother) grad transfer LB?
  2. He has played all 3 interior spots.
  3. I found it. It's in the portal thread somewhere. He actually returned to Miami, but is not on the official roster for them. The roster is supposed to be set on the first day of fall camp, so there's something missing.
  4. Yes, he's short, and just not many college guards get drafted. Last year was guard heavy, so we might not even have 10 guards drafted this year.
  5. And he started at ASU in more of an APB role. He was kind of forced into RB1 by being the clear best option.
  6. Why'd he have to tell you twice?
  7. Freshman guards are generally a terrible idea. Freshman centers are a worse idea. These guys are lined up across from bigger, faster, and stronger athletes than they will ever be. They are positions that you can't just out-athlete your opponent. Mental processing speed comes with practice, knowledge as a center comes with age.
  8. One guy with no eligibility. One guy who maybe has a year depending on how the JUCO lawsuit goes. One guy who took 3 snaps at UVA last year. And recruits are now scared it will be too cold to play at Texas anyway.
  9. Or why he only played 3 snaps for UVA.
  10. LSU projected starting guards are the backup OT from Baylor and a rotational and special teamer from Ole Miss.
  11. I guess we'll take another look when he enters the portal next year.
  12. Flood has already won a "Natty."
  13. Looks like he entered, then withdrew his name from the portal in the middle of Fall Camp 2023: https://www.on3.com/transfer-portal/news/miami-offensive-lineman-laurance-seymore-withdraws-from-transfer-portal/ He is not on the Miami official roster for 2023 which implies he didn't make it out of fall camp.
  14. Prognostication. He's 6'7" and wouldn't be the first player to be interested in Texas just to see what his potential value is. Just doesn't seem like a fit for us unless his goal is to continue being a rotational/special teams guy. It also wouldn't be the first football player to be okay with that in exchange for the degree, so maybe.
  15. The rule is 5 years to play 4. An injury can make it 6 years to play 4. I realize this is confusing with guys like Zach Calzada still floating around. But they are 4 + redishirt + Covid + Injury = 7 years to play 5.
  16. Yes. This is what a player is allowed: 4 years to play and a redshirt 5th year.
  17. He has no eligibility remaining. He wants someone to fund his lawsuit.
  18. Seems like Merriweather would want a decent shot at a OT starting spot. I don't think we can offer him that, but maybe we can sell him on having it his senior year.
  19. I was being a little tongue-in-cheek. But Shaw/Brevard were solid rotation space eaters even if they weren't flashy.
  20. DT is probably the only position we aren't improving over last year, so maybe do that again.
  21. The idea that we get a starter after this point, though...
  22. Cojoe was injured in Fall Camp. He and Baker were competing for the starting RT spot, with most people thinking it was Cojoe's to lose.
