  1. imo go outdoors if its within your personal comfort. i made a domestic oven pizza for relatives (yes they like corn) and even with a similar stone to my ooni and long cook time, it couldnt blister the base or the crust. neapolitan dough was adapted for indoors by adding some olive oil and sugar to help with the browning. (supposed this was the history of italian pizza adaptation in new york). didnt seem to help. the ooni chamber is so small and enclosed i dont think the cold ambient affects it enough to perform worse than home oven.
  2. a lot of british people tend to end sentences in questions dont they? its a weird way of speaking isnt it? it gets really irritating after a while doesnt it? anyway, im listening to this podcast from the former writers of the british car magazine EVO, and these 5 dudes keep on sprinkling these tag-questions onto every declarative phrase and it shortcircuits my brain because it sounds like theyre constantly asking eachother something , when they really arent.
  3. My 3 year old when im trying to sleep in on a weekend morning…
  4. Im team islay. My all-time favorites are ardbeg, port charlotte, lagavulin; all are on the deeper end of islay peats, and they just seem to evaporate from the mouth. Truth be told I dont like most whiskeys. When I was was experimenting trying to be a “whiskey guy” (because its a sophisticated adult male thing, see) i bought all the single malts like glenfiddich and glenmorangie and etc and turns out i find these creamy, butterscotchy, oaky spirits a bit aggressive and repugnant. It’s just islays and a few bourbon here or there that i truly enjoy.

  6. drinking heavily on longhauls is so dumb because of the dehydration, the disruption of circadian rhythm, minimal sleep, busy toilets (even in J), and worse when you land and might be stuck in queues. my routine was 1 bubbly pdb, 1 wine during dinner, and 1 port afterwards, any more than that is excessive.
  7. i have wife and children so ive finally earned the man pass to drive a miata. except here they are only available in the 1.5L 132hp version, and they still cost $55,000, and it snows half the year.
  8. my favorite thing about tasting notes of wines and spirits is how sometimes its obvious theyre completely made-up. like, someones pulling a prank on the audience. who the fuck wants something that smells like motor oil. (maybe theres a euphemistic alternative to describing that smell) im drinking a bottle of this right now and there's definitely no smoked fucking kippers in here.
  9. For whatever fucking reasons stores in Europe only have 1-way entry/exit so if you didn't find any groceries or whatever you need, to get out, you have to shimmy sideways past people in the checkout line and its fucking awkward
  10. Paddys schtick was entertaining for, like, 3 minutes. Prime example of Dana Privilege team Yadong though.
  11. This is the most effective way to slow a Bugatti down
  12. did they try to convince people that the front wheel drive Civic can do a donut?
  13. Yummm, concrete for breakfast

  15. yes, 5ghz has been mainstream for almost 2 decades but devices from as recent as just a few years ago were 2.4ghz only. and these fucking things don't work with the dual-band broadcast so you have to split your signal to do setup. its not cheap replaceable shit like smart lightbulbs either. my split AC unit is restricted to 2.4ghz and it has to piggyback on a phone to transmit the wireless configuration, so took basically half an hour with that clunky bitch to get it connected to the web.
  16. Ive sold to Carmax in the US and to other similar retailwholesalers elsewhere. Everyone always hate on how theyre a “rip off”. For me, for the 5% of whatever they take off what you could earn privately, its totally worth it. Buy/sell cars in a fraction of a day clean and clear, no haggling or tirekicking bullshit.
  17. Ive been under sub-freezing temp for a month. Dutch port gas (TTF) is also up 10% today. Wicked move for people trading the stuff.
  18. a lot of smart home devices only work with 2.4ghz wifi because they didnt want to pay the extra 30 cents for the advanced wireless module and its a PITA to set them up
  19. 2 days of nat gas going up +20% is literally unprecedented i think
