Skin Cancer. Damn.
A largely preventable thing today, but we just didn't know better back then.
Not only was sun-screen not a thing when I was a kid, sun tan oil was the thing. And not the SPF-15 oil they sell today. That shit was like SPF negative 100
I thought the big story line was going to be who the Texas 2nd string QB was going to be.
You know, early in the 3rd Quarter when we're up by 50 and start pulling all the starters. Was the Arch era going to start today?
Yes, I was counting chickens before they hatched, but come on man, it Rice!?
Colorado is doing the impossible.
They're making my pay attention to a single game, between two team I don't really care about, from start to finish, on opening weekend.
Normally my attention shifts from game to game. I do have multiple game up, but I'll be damned if I'm not watching TCU/CU (and enjoying it).
I was only sort-of a fan until I saw him live in '97 or '98 at the old South Park Meadows venue. I walked into his show wondering what the hell is with all these weird fans; I walked out a Parrothead myself. He put on a damn good live show.
RIP.
When that $30 million ESPN deal was leaked, there was part of the story where an un-named University President killed the deal because he had worked with a professor at his university and came up with a $50 million per-team value.
Did it ever come out which university that was?
To some extent, I get what Deon is saying. If I had the choice of great team unity but with shitty players, or a bunch of good players who were all divas, I'd probably go with the better players and try and make it work.
That said, that place must be a ticking time bomb.
If they were a 9 or 10 win team they could last a whole season without a meltdown because winning cures a lot of ills. But they're not a 9 or 10 win team, and when the losses start to pile up the implosion will be a sight to behold.
I still predict they are going to over achieve and have a 6 win season. That may or may not be enough to hold things together.
Texas 44
Rice 7
Ewers probably isn't going to be playing much in the second half, and I expect the play calling (on both sides of the ball) to be as vanilla as possible. We'll win the game without a doubt, but a successful night will be if will give 'Bama no video worth studying.
The ACC only has 14 Football schools; 15 is with ND in non-football sports. I assume if any one of those 15 leave it would allow ESPN to renegotiate.
The problem with Brett McMurphy's point is that he doesn't explain how the ACC could drop below 15 schools. They all signed the GOR that goes through 2036. FSU wants to leave really bad. If they had a way to do that, they would be doing it.
Unless Georgia Tech or Wake just decides to bail out of all sports, I'm not seeing the ACC going below 15....So there is no need to add teams as an insurance policy.
Am I missing something?
If I was Pootin, I'd come out and say shit like "Prigozhin's was a close personal friend and a true Russian patriot; if he was killed, I'll hold those responsible"
Nobody (outside of Russia) will believe it, but it would probably play to the Wagner rank and file and be just enough to make them do nothing.
