They keep you far away. When shit hits the fan they will have an airborne early warning plane up at all time.... they see everything within 100s of miles and they have layered defenses.
Reading about Shackleton in High School was the first time it occurred to my indestructible-know-it-all younger self that I might be a bad-ass, but I was not that bad-ass.
That possibility is no longer an option. The world has unified against Russia.
There is no end-game I see where Russian keeps any part of Ukraine. Either they overthrow Putin sooner and pull out willingly, or their economy crashes and they have a full-on revolution within 6 months. I just hope they keeps their nukes bottled up.
Greatest American songwriter? That may be a little far.

And that's after 30 seconds of searching. A true American badass.
It's been said that logistics wins wars.
Driving deep into enemy territory is great and all, but without plans for a resupply, you are proper-fucked.
Foraging for fuel? The days of Sherman's march-to-the-sea are long gone.
There are 8 countries known to have Nukes plus Israel. If I'm Taiwan, I'm doing what it takes to buy some nukes from India. India is not part of any non-proliferation treaty, they don't like China, and they have a lot of needs.
It'd take what 3 months, maybe 6, for a team of competent engineers to replace the control boards to own those bad boys. If you have physical control of a nuke, you have a nuke.
At the bottom of the page it also has a Where am I link which gives you an address. It seems to resolve your IP to the same location as the elevation page, which in my cases is about a miles away.
Also, 817ft.
It's real, but the Assignee is... NASA.
That's not as if someone else was doing something 'like' the shuttle, that's NASA doing the actual shuttle.

I loved my time SLO, but since I haven't been back in more than 30 years, most of my old recommendations are no longer valid.
Avila Beach is the nearest costal beach, in February, not many of the co-eds from the big college campus in SLO will be making the trip. In a couple of months it will be a very scenic place to hang out?
Like Wine? There are a ton of great wineries based just north in Paso Robles.
Do you surf? Do you want to learn? 10 miles away from SLO is the "The Rock" at Morro Bay. On the North side there is great surfing for beginners on up. And it has fucking awesome feature, Dude. You can take your board and walk along the Rock and then jump in and paddle parallel to the shore. (Don't do this on a big wind/wave day or you'll get crushed against the rock.)
Even if you removed 100% of Russia's combat capable forces, they can still destroy all life on earth. It's the fucking nukes that scare the shit out of me. Same with China; there is no 'winning' a large scale conventional war against either of them.
My (somewhat sheltered (and white)) 12 year old son was looking forward to the half time show, because it had "Snoooop dooog". He knows Snoop as a celebrity but, as it turns out, not as a recording artist.
..two or three minutes in, he's like "this sucks, I'ma go play xbox, call me when the games is on."
Kids these days.
