You definitely have a point! I think when looking at a broader benchmark compared to the output of OL coaches across the country that are viewed as good to great along with the resources Texas has to be able to be able to land 5 NFL caliber talent he has underperformed. I think my lens was a bit more narrow (comparing to OL coaches we’ve had in the past which some have been Stroh level awful) which in hindsight you’re right we should be expecting more results!
I agree with the improvement as the season went on and I believe Flood is a good coach when it comes to teaching! But I wonder how much had to do with going with Hutson at LG and Robertson at Center? i felt like the change on the OL took longer than it should have and it was maddening to witness in real time.
That’s why I prefaced saying “Texas football” in general and didn’t specify a list of idiotic quotes from coaches. Sure two of the 3 quotes are from coaches, good catch
The problem is when I was saying “All in” is a fucking stupid thing to say it genuinely is! You have $9.95s back peddling on that now. You can call me out on my previous post from back in July I got nothing wrong with that and I can admit when I’m wrong! But nothing I said today was about how are results looked 3 days into the portal. I’m waiting till after the next 12 days before I start judging on how well of a haul it will be. if you took it another way that’s on you bud, not me!
You’re not wrong, I just hate the concept of “All in” vs using different verbiage about how aggressive we’ll be! I for one am not upset with how 3 days into the portal has been so far. I still believe we’ll end up with a pretty good haul starting with shoring up the OL and addressing the other areas on our roster
