Without a doubt. And the cheesecake was greatness. I didn’t try all of the new stuff, just those two, the beef tallow fries, and the pork prime rib. Was very pleased with all. Felt a little strange drinking beer from a bottle there, but I managed.
Newest Pinkerton's opens on Tuesday in Houston off of 59 & Shepherd. Really looking forward to it mainly because it is a lot closer to me. Different look than the others. Reminds me of places I'd go for little league after parties. Apparently going to be an expanded menu.
I was introduced to hornfans by a coworker in January ‘99, giving me the opportunity to be around for the Simms announcement crashing the site. If I recall, that was also the last time Texas had “quality depth” on the OL. So I choose not to worry now. The o-line has been interesting from Nunez’s Dancing Bears all the way up to Flood’s Bumbling Giants.
I watched the first 2 episodes and stopped because at first it seemed like ER part 2. Went back watched it all when all episodes were out and loved it. And what I really like is simply that it is competent people doing competent things. Something you don’t see a lot of in shows, unfortunately.
Off the record, on the QT, and very hush hush
Outstanding movie. The oscar for adapted screenplay was much deserved. I love the book and am still amazed at how it was turned into that screenplay.
And since I forgot to add it: I’m ordering McRib right now and then getting some Luby’s tomorrow. CFS, mashed potatoes, and okra. Anything different is wrong. Well except the fish. Or liver & onions.
Loved that spot. Parking was their biggest issue. They were in constant fights with the landlord about the number of spots available in the lot. All of the Texadelphias in Houston went to crap as soon as Willie (RIP) sold it.
Had to make that drive quite often, especially when I lived in Dallas. I’m a get in the car and go person, I don’t like to stop. If I needed gas, I would stop in Ennis, Centerville, or Madisonville because they are easy on/easy off with things right on 45. Gas/Whataburger in Ennis, aforementioned Woody’s in Centerville, and gas/Buc-ee’s in Madisonville. Good luck with the commute.
I’m still in the process of processing. Took this afternoon off from the news and social media. Grew up going to Hunt. First to pick up my sister from Mystic (and I still hate James Avery as a result) then going to Stewart, then my nieces at Mystic and nephew at La Junta. My dad lives in Kerrville (it got interesting, but he is ok). Sister and nieces grew up and worked at Mystic. Know the Eastlands. Know the Ragsdales. Know some of the families.
Have friends that are in Hunt and flooded but are ok. As they have said “everything you loved is gone or destroyed.”
So happy that the posters here, like Homesick (who I know) and Blackcat (who I don’t - maybe) are ok and with their families.
I know what these camps stand for and hope they all continue. I don’t like letting tragedies win.
Tale care everyone and hug those you care about.
Will never happen. We might play Rice at NRG to have a game in Houston (in a 2-1 type deal) and that would be it. As for the big xii, the only team I could see us playing in any type of home & home would be ASU.
MGM+ subscription through Prime. Watched it about a year ago. Thought it was excellent.
It’s based off of the book written by Ben McIntyre, same guy that wrote Rogue Heroes (also on MGM+)
This is a conference game, albeit against a shit opponent. If Ewers is cleared, you play him. If the game is a blowout then put in Arch after the 1st series of the 2nd half.
Classes: nothing before 11. Beer: it’s your best friend, drink a lot of it. Women: you’re a freshman, so it’s pretty much out of the question. Do we have a car? Someone on your floor will. Find them and make friends with them on the first day.
Words to live by.
I appreciate the fact that Tilman’s 2 hires have been absolute failures. They had a pretty good and growing alumni base when Pezman showed up and tore that down in a Patterson-esque way. Apparently the final nail in the coffin was a scandal with the softball team involving (among other things) a player pulling a gun and putting it to another player’s head.
Pierce is done. The only one that doesn’t realize it is Balcones. He was done when he assigned himself the pitching coach. Kind of like when Herman was done as soon as Sam was the only one on the field for The Eyes. Tomorrow or the next 2 weeks will be interesting.
