  1. Map from yesterday but helps explain bigger purposes: by every metric I can think of, the last week of January was the highest Russian KIA that we have counted to date. If you calculate it looking forward in time, so which period of time marked the beginning of a surge in KIA. It is January 19th. If you calculate it looking backwards, so which period of time end up having the most KIA. It is January 26th. If you calculate it as a middle point, so which date was in the middle of the most KIA. It is February 2nd. Regardless, January 19th to now has been a blood bath, averaging 204 KIA per day in video footage alone, and it would be the third highest KIA month we've counted, except its not even a month long. February, thus far, contrary to expectations, is the highest KIA/Day month we've seen so far, with 193 per day. January was the previous high mark with 192
  2. https://x.com/NotWoofers/status/2021913469067444684Now revealed publicly: The Ukrainians set up bots in telegram to trick Russians into trying to repair their Starlinks and get onto the Ukrainian whitelist. As a result they got the exact details, and sometimes exact coordinates, of 2,420 Starlink terminals and made $6,000 from Russians paying “service fees”. They also uncovered 31 collaborators in Ukraine.
  3. I think this goes here https://x.com/michaeldweiss/status/2021324755710693737The lead candidate to win Hungary's upcoming election, Peter Magyar, says tomorrow a sex tape of him with his then-girlfriend is going to be released, hinting at a Russian-style active measure by Viktor Orban's embattled government. "Yes, I am a 45-year-old man, I have a sex life. With an adult partner," Magyar writes. "I have three minor children, whom this vile 'family-friendly' regime obviously does not give a damn about...Dear frightened Fidesz supporters: go ahead, release everything you have, fabricate whatever you like. I will not yield to blackmail or threats." Putin's playbook: Uploading Attachment...

  5. https://x.com/NOELreports/status/2020830333126512952?s=20 Russian military analyst Yuriy Podolyaka says the situation on the Zaporizhzhia front has sharply heated up over the past two days. According to him, Ukrainian forces have launched active counterattacks in the area of Huliaipole. Podolyaka claims these actions were not spontaneous. In his view, the operation had been prepared for about a week, during which Ukrainian command concentrated significant forces for the push. He says the counteroffensive involves seven assault regiments and three assault brigades, all redeployed from the Pokrovsk and Kupiansk directions. He describes the main goal of these moves as an attempt to strike into the rear of Russia’s Vostok grouping. According to Podolyaka, Ukrainian forces are trying to exploit logistics routes and nodes linked to Pokrovsk and Velyka Mykhailivka. He emphasizes that the timing of the attacks coincided with difficult weather conditions and communication (Starlink) problems, which he says helped increase the element of surprise. In terms of results so far, Podolyaka reports the most tangible tactical progress near Novomykhailivka. He says Ukrainian units managed to push back forward Russian positions in the areas of Orestopil and Sosnivka. Fighting, he adds, is now continuing around Berezove, where control of the area remains contested. Further west, near Ternuvate, Podolyaka describes the situation as unstable. He says Ukrainian forces are continuing to move forward there, while both sides assess developments differently, suggesting that the battle for initiative in this sector is still ongoing
  6. You might be surprised what your church or denomination (if you have one) believes about this. It's usually on the website. Also worth noting that inerrant and infallible are often used as distinct terms, with inerrant representing the higher standard (completely without error) and infallible allowing for minor inaccuracies in details but being entirely reliable for a Christian's faith and practice. More recently, "inspired" has been used as a standard below infallible, in which the Bible is authoritative above human experience and tradition because God inspired the authors of the Bible in their writings, but it may contain errors and should be understood in the historical and social context. It can get confusing though because I think "inspired" historically has just been the foundational understanding upon which inerrancy and infallibility rest, rather than as a lower level of authority.
  7. It's also worth noting that some of the first Evangelical leaders were also vocal leaders in the abolitionist movement. Activism was always a part of evangelicalism. Over time in mainline denominations, many of whom were Evangelical, that took the form of advocacy for "social" reform, while others emphasized personal conversion and salvation. Evangelicals were not a monolithic block. Only in the last few decades has the term become used to describe a coherent political group and even this was a slow change and a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy in that as the media increasingly used the term to refer to a particular set of political (and sometimes religious) beliefs, those who considered themselves Evangelical but who didn't agree with all of the political or theological (especially Fundamentalist) beliefs being attached to the term Evangelical slowly stopped identifying with the term. Meanwhile, people who identified with the political beliefs that were increasingly highlighted in popular usage, but not as much of the moral or theological precepts, started to identify as Evangelical. That brings us to today where the term is basically a political group who identify with a set of particular political and cultural beliefs, yet half of them don't attend church on a monthly basis. All of that is to say there are lots of Christians who spoke out and are speaking out against what has become of evangelicalism, even at the elite and institutional level but as the term has been co-opted as a more monolithic political rather than religious movement, many of whom don't even attend church or engage in Christian institutions whatsoever, the institutional influence is limited. Meanwhile, some of those who did speak out initially were removed from places of influence. It's also worth considering that thoughtful and intelligent interfaith arguments are not exactly made for headline news or social media algorithms, especially for people who don't already engage in Christian issues. I see them now and have followed them for decades, but they rarely break through into the mainstream public conversation. So, much like the rest of the infotainment and social media space, unless someone has done something hypocritical, deviant, or outrageous, of which there are endless examples, the general American public doesn't hear about those who are measured and thoughtfu land aren't so sensational in their lifestyle or approach. Just my semi scattered thoughts. There's more to say here to make this a more cohesive comment but I gotta go. Hope that helps direct the conversation in a fruitful direction.
