So what's our level of exposure to ICE/DHS/FBI harassment, given that texags has 100% notified the Jackboots of our presence here? Am I going to get to exercise my King of the Castle rights on my front porch soon?
How is anyone in 2026 still doing business with Donald Trump and crying when they get stiffed? It's like you went to Camp Crystal Lake and you just can't believe you got murdered. Yeah. That's how that works. Didn't you see the first fourteen movies?
And he raped almost 20 women (that we know of) and an unknown number of kids. And Republican voters all said, "So?" Then they went to church. Then they went to the gun range, secure in the knowledge that any future Trump rapees who get impregnated will have to carry his demon baby to term, as Jesus wants.
Yeah, if I had kids I'd be going crazy right now. For me, it's just about living comfortably, retiring by 55 to 60, doing some traveling, and leaving as much as possible to charity. Moving to Europe or Central America helps with every part of that.
I definitely understand that view, and it creeps into my mind sometimes, too. But more often I find myself feeling like this place is broken beyond repair and I did what I could with my votes and time spent trying to talk sense into friends and family. A friend who knows I'm leaving someday has asked me more than once: don't you feel an obligation to stay and fight for your country? No, I don't. It's just a place. And it's not the country I grew up in anymore. And there are too many other beautiful places in the world that cost 1/3 as much to live in. I can go to one of them and contribute there instead. Not saying my take is right. This is just where I've landed on it. I do understand folks who still have hope for this place. I wish I could share it.
