Oh sure but I’m gonna push back on anyone saying winning only matters to the fans and has no monetary meaning to a program. That is not true. We will never lack the money to get the players we need and that is nice. I just expect us to win with it. It frankly boggles my mind all fans don’t see it that way honestly. To me it’s program over coach always.

NFL Black Monday, 2026
Owner sees deflated locker room after loss. Makes knee jerk decision. Had he fired both the HC and GM no one would be as confused by the decision as there was no Burrow, Lamar nor Mahomes in Allen’s way. They both needed to go. But keeping the GM tells me the Owner just likes having his ass kissed by Beane and likes him. And that is not a good football decision. Too bad Jerruh doesn’t take notes. 30 years!!! No NFC championships. That takes skill.

It's his foot which shouldn't affect his throwing arm. But hey, who knows? Is it his throwing foot? 🦶 just kidding. Have to be able to plant to throw. Just wonder how long he was dealing with it or if it happened during the bowl game? I was shocked after watching the Broncos beat the bills when SP announced Bo Nix had broke his ankle.

Working and watching FS1 in background and it said Arch having minor surgery to correct a prior injury/issue and doesn’t affect him being available once the team starts ramping up in spring/summer. So glad he’s taking care of whatever it is now. Interested to see how the OLine, special teams and new weapons will gel on offense.

NFL Black Monday, 2026
There is a part of me that just wants him to be HC to yell at the refs. He was notorious for it as a QB: I want him to yell at the refs like he does his dozens of grandkids when he steps barefooted on a lego they left on the floor. Refs need to be fucking yelled at.

That’s awesome! And in shocking news that surprises no one Mendoza declares for the draft. That kid cracks me up. His linked in page alone. 😂 At least he is gonna bank.

Did he help Texas when he was creeping around as an analyst? I seem to remember he did. I think he can at least improve their defense to serviceable if he doesn’t kill Lincoln first

NFL Black Monday, 2026
Look man he has to stay hydrated and fed while watching hours of film from the best teams. I wish they’d hire Flores bc he epitomizes the steel curtain defense. But they will probably go McCarthy. That division is a mess right now. there are serious rumors of the Raiders wanting to make a play for Lamar Jackson and I do wonder if there is anything to the last two years of odd injury and practice reports coming out about him or if it was simply a deal btw him and Harbaugh.

Yeah. You can tell his seat is getting hot too. Hard to imagine a Riley led team with a defense. But it’s a good choice.

Harbaugh is a QB friendly HC. McDaniel hasn’t had a ton of experience but he was dealing with fucking Tua. And I do feel he got a lot out of Tua early. But I just feel like we have seen Herbert’s ceiling. However if there is anymore there to Herbert they are certainly both capable of getting the most out of him.

Bottom line: winning a championship and playoff games and having a Heisman QB Winner does pay off for a school far more than not making the playoffs. We can quibble about dollar amounts and value and some here know a little more than I do about what a championship is worth and a Heisman is worth to a school but we know it’s not a trifling amount.

It’s not a bad location. Lovely stadium and all that. They need an OLine. Decent enough gig. I just cannot see working for Harbaugh. But maybe he’s good to staff. I think it’s smart to take an OC gig and be successful doing that and then try again to be a HC (if that’s what he wants) bc there will always be openings.

Fancy way of saying luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I just want to know what they do in their practices man. And copy that. If it cuts down on penalties that would be awesome. Ref fuckery is another matter. It was so fucking flagrant and obvious this year in both college and the NFL and not a damn thing is done. They do just enough “good calls” to keep the fans from going batshit. But the Georgia v Auburn game was so egregious I thought people were going to stroke out and they just permanently suspended the head ref. Only way to keep from getting fucked over is to not give them as many opportunities to make good calls. We gotta clean that shit up. To me the most infuriating ones are right after a time out and we are in scoring range. It’s rage inducing to see a false start after a time out.

Search firm did its job. I’m curious also about JMU’s coaching search people. They had Cig. Their last hire is now the new HC of UCLA if he pans out I’d be interested in what they do as well if their next hire is also sought after. They seem to have a coaching pipeline so far (small sample size) but despite getting dominated by Oregon that team never quit and put up 33 fucking points basically. To be honest I wouldn’t care two shits if people went batshit over a hire like Cig. Look how amazing McWilliams (great guy IRL) and Make us sick, and Strong and Herman turned out. I realize most seemed like safe hires and Herman was a hot name. Maybe we should try something different and smarter if we have to do this again. Our track record is a bit sketchy.

All kidding aside…I would love to know how many P4 or at the time P5 Cig ever interviewed with or was it just Indiana? Did anyone else offer? Just curious. he seems like the type to save rejection letters and keep a tally of those who may have said no. I guess there isn’t a way to find out.

As far as wins and losses go: Nick Saban’s tenure brought approximately $1 billion to Bama’s athletic department. It brought hundreds of millions to Tuscaloosa and to the state of Alabama. Winning does matter. We won’t know the economic impact for Indiana for a while. But it will be significant. Particularly if Hoover as QB and the new player acquisitions translate into another playoff appearance for Indiana. I know RGIII winning the Heisman was huge for Baylor/Waco. It does matter. It pays for other sports and other facilities and other things academics cannot hold a candle to. As it stands right now we have spent close $70 million roughly since 2025 on UT football. People should expect an ROI. That $70 if we won gets paid back in spades. Not even making the playoffs isn’t the equivalent of flushing money down the toilet but there is a significant difference in ROI. Period.

There is no consensus on what caused it. The result was unacceptable. No excuses.

Well the question really only matters to the Powers That Be of all these schools. The donors and such that cut the checks (boosters) and within the hierarchy of the institution. Watching loosely in the background the Finebaum school and you have even the mouth breather SEC fans calling in and saying “why not us? We need to focus less on HS recruits and get into the portal game bc a recruit ain’t proven and will probably portal and we have to re-recruit them again.” I don’t know what the correct portal/recruit balance is but it’s shifted to the point that if you don’t use the portal and don’t have good talent identifiers you won’t make the playoffs. As far as Cig and his coaching staff he has loyal dudes. We know he’s an exceptional coach and he had 13 JMU players from 2024 and 8 more added for this season. He built a pipeline from his last stop and he may have taken talent but JMU still make the playoffs and scored 11 times more points than Aggy. What parity has done has put the onus on coaches and that is where it should be. On the grown ass men making millions to be in charge of staff, recruiting and portal selections. The more money you are given the higher the expectations should be at this point. For those who want fans to lower their expectation what they are telling me is that their coach cannot get it done and we should simmer down and temper our expectations to his abilities. The thing is nothing we say about Sark or our expectations has fuckall to do with his keeping his job. His performance commiserate with the tens of millions he has been given to build a team and a staff of his choosing will determine whether he stays or goes. Period, the people who cut the checks determine his worth. And FWIW a lot of donors and boosters around the country are side eying their HCs if they have been there longer than 3-5 years, I still think we need to work a deal with UTSA where their HC develops the players as recruits and we pick their asses up as developed and have a portal pipeline to sustain the attrition that comes from 20 plus players we either had leave or were told to go. Bottom line: I’m not tempering my expectations, the more money sark gets and autonomy and support the more I expect. And if he cannot meet those expectations with all he’s been given he’s just a coordinator to me with a HC title. And there will always be better up and coming coaches with better ideas and better accountability in the future. He determines his own future, if he keeps the big money dudes happy. He doesn’t and no amount of 🖕🏼 emojis and people telling us to simmer down and get butthurt or eye rolls will help him. The BMD call all the shots not a single one of us alone or collectively by praising or bitching about the man make fuck all difference.

Just to clarify you are just talking about the fans. Not the money that a school gets for winning, free recruiting videos from winning, and the hardware and so on. The Heisman alone is worth at least a billion to a school. Playing in and winning all those “bowl” play off games means a lot to a school. Just clarifying that you mean fans. Because winning 🏆 equals 💰 to a school.

I hit the reset button. LFG! We have more than a puncher’s chance of winning it all and I will continue to live off that hope until the season starts. 2025 and every other season is behind us. And absolutely no one can take away my hope right now because the season hasn’t started. 😂- This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
Good news: not a one of us here has any say whatsoever in whether we keep Sark or not. Praising him or criticizing him won’t move the needle on whether he’s on the hot seat with the top brass or in their good graces. routinely outspending other colleges in the portal and NIL and not winning in the playoffs will seal his fate. Idgaf if people love him or hate him. Ain’t no one’s feelings about Sark moving the needle on whether we fire him, put him on the hot seat or just decide he’s as good as it gets and keep giving him big time money 💰 to see if this year or next year or next year will be the year. We won’t run out of money. The BMDs will run out of patience with no results. The kind of people dropping money this past year and this year expect an ROI. Not flowery bullshit and excuses. if you want to be a prick in pressers or sound like a robot I don’t care. 🤷🏻♀️ but if you are going to say “Google me” back it up. Cig did. I sure as shit don’t hear excuses about new staff, agents, blah blah blah, portal, new team members. He just went out and won. Bottom line: when the people cutting the checks lose their patience with Sark he’s gone and none of us or what we think or say has any impact on that whatsoever. And don’t think they didn’t notice Mark Cuban getting the star treatment on ESPN winning an MNC with only the 4th player to win a Heisman and an MNC with 8 total (4 and 5 stars.) they saw that shit. We all did.- This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
For me 2026 is clean slate. New year. Just like my boss doesn’t care about my work in 2024 and 2023 and expects results today I don’t gaf what we did in 2023-2024 in football. I don’t care about last season. What matters is what we do in 2026. Take each game one at a time. I don’t know anymore where Sark falls on the NFL. I do know they aren’t beating down his door for a job this year. And the Miami hire for HC is a head scratcher to me. I think Sark v top ten ranked teams is 4-8. 🤷🏻♀️ The talent on our field is not the issue—you don’t have to have video game players to win. A super team to win. He gets outcoached a lot. His entire tenure here and other stops as a HC. That’s why I hope he and Muschamp will gel. That Muschamp will take over the defense and sark can focus on offense, that isn’t my definition of a HC but I could gaf if we can win that way. One MNC in basically 50 years —I don’t care what we have to do to get another in my lifetime.- This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
True. That was our 8-4 year I think. 🤔 bottom line is you don’t have to have a Bijan to have a running game. You can win with 2-3 stars if they are well coached, no excuse for not routinely having 100 yards rushing. Wisner was our only running back in 2025 with a 100 plus yard game and he only achieved a 100 yard game against Aggie. You cannot win that way. People mention arch struggling early but we had zero running game and the OLine was a hot mess. I expect big results from the money we have spent. And it should be demanded from all the fans.- This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
The running game The OLine struggles Penalties Those are the areas where we all want to see improvement. I get Cig is a unicorn (basically did what the purple wizard accomplished on steroids) but the most intriguing thing is that his teams rarely commit penalties. One last night very well could have sunk their MNC win had Beck not thrown his obligatory pick. The penalties (and yes there is ref fuckery) destroyed so many drives for us. I really cannot name Indiana’s running backs but we have had RoJo and Bijan and Blue (all made it to the NFL) and others and still struggle with the running game. Much of that is to me an issue with OLine. And play calling. Both ultimately fall under sark. None of us want to hear him say after a loss we should have run more. That’s 💯 under him. Plus, he has engineered a compromise for 2026 where he never even has to deal with the defense and can focus solely on playcalling and scheming and Arch. I will not understand keeping Flood. Colin Cowherd said this morning we have spent $40 million on this new roster. Don’t know what the true number is but the same was said last year and while that wasn’t true the number from people on here who absolutely know what was spent said it was closer to $40 than people want to accept. I don’t want to hear we have new team members and a lot of transfers when Indiana dominated the playoffs with transplants. There were 4500 plus kids in the portal. Everyone has to try and meld their team with new guys. Some just do it better than others. I am keeping an eye on UCLA and Okie Lite. New coaches and a ton of transplants. No one is immune to this. Some manage it better. We have a TON of weapons and if we can cut the penalties and win in the trenches nothing should be stopping us from making a run. Except ourselves, Miami is spending a shitload as are many others. Parity has a way of identifying the good coaches from the mid and the mid from the pretenders. You get the HC right you should be able to compete in this era particularly with the money we routinely have. No more excuses. - This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
