  1. Haven't read the whole thread so SIAP, but my brother said he saw the "4D" version at Edwards Theater, (Houston), last night and hated it. HOWEVER, he's had several back surgeries with metal "accoutermonts" and said his seat shook his back very painfully. Might want to keep that in mind if similarly outfitted.
  2. {DELETED} Wrong Thread
  3. Major Strasser has been shot...Round up the usual suspects.
  4. Great read. Thx for posting it.
  5. I was born in 1960, fifteen years after the end of WW2. It occurred to me this morning while doing my mile walk with the pup that my iPod Classic is just about that old. Holy shit! P.S. And most of the music on it is waaaaaaaaay older than that.

Ketchup on tamales? Never seen it, heard of it or even had the barest fleeting thought of such a thing. But apparently, many people do.
  7. * You’re.

Tamales make a great stuffed pork chop filling. Add some cheese and jalapeño to coarsely crumbled tamales. Stuff and... Pan sear in a cast iron skillet then bake cut side down in the same pan until done.
  9. We're a good people. (Texans)
  10. Because "God" is non-denominational, and no single religion has a trademark on "God". Plus it has the added benefit of giving atheists something to be aggrieved about.
  11. I apologize if someone has already made this point because I'm not interested in reading this whole thread, but it sounds like the dude is setting up the alibi for when he gets caught that he was just conducting "scholarly research".
  12. ATT Prepaid/AutoPaid, <$35 including taxes. Unlimited calls and text, 1 GB mo. data. No add'l charges for overage but they may throttle speeds. I don't watch movies so it's not a problem and they rollover unused so I have a surplus if I need it. No coverage issues.
  13. So Champ, with your plethora of "elevated" barbecue, y'all are clearly doing a lot of experimentation and obviously at some point or another a few of your creations must be utter flops. Care to regale us with some missteps? Bonus internet points for pictures.
  14. I wound up making a stir fry with turkey and leftover crudites, (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and bell peppers). Was preety good.
  15. I've got a ton of leftover turkey and also Honeybaked Ham. I'm thinking about making gumbo or possibly jambalaya.
  16. Stopped at Popeye's yesterday on my way to a buddy's house to pick up a couple of chicken boxes for the Tech game. It was about 10:45, (early game) and there was no line and only one other customer. Got a spicy sandwich to split in addition to the boxes. As noted above, nice bun, crispy chicken, it was tasty. I wouldn't commit a murder, (or even jaywalk) for it, but I'd order it again.
  17. Yeah yeah yeah I remember. But it was Wes that kept bringing us samples of the turkey. You were always too busy to notice... 😉
  18. Wes at Pappa Charlie's was very proud of his turkey and brought us samples on more than one occasion after we'd ordered beef and pork when he was still at the ice house in Montrose. It was excellent, but it was never going to be the reason I drove halfway across Houston.
  19. If you don't know the history of this site, go here. (*) There are numerous YouTubes here. About fifteen years ago, the old building was bought by a developer and turned into "Starving Artist Lofts". (My words, not theirs - but nonetheless.) Anywho, if anyone is interest, they are having an Artists Crawl this Saturday and it might be worth the trip just to check out the old building and what they've done with it. The link with info for the crawl is here. Love to see pictures if you go. (*) Short version: Formerly the land was the city's indigent cemetery. Fell into poor repair so a hospital was built over the site. Supposedly the bodies were to have been moved, but they weren't. Hospital went through several incarnations and was eventually abandoned except for a couple of scenes from Robocop II. Reportedly THE most haunted spot in Houston.
