As far as the islands, I really liked Crete. Xania and Heraklion are fun little towns. The beaches around Phalasarna are beautiful and nobody was there the week we were there.
Another day trip we liked from Athens was Nafplio. Castle on top of the hill and great views of the harbor.

St George’s are good and cheap. If you want something different try their Terrior. It tastes like a pine tree in a good way.

I pretty sure there is. I used to give blood/platelets/double reds at what used to be the Blood and Tissue Center on Lamar regularly and I signed up for it at one point.
Everybody plays in each match day set. Half the groups on that Tuesday, half on Wednesday. You play six games by mid December so nobody gets the Napoleonic Russia treatment.
For the group - within a week or two. The match weeks are set, but they are either Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
