I drove through La Grange today and was at a full stop on 71 for about 45 minutes. Figured it was an accident.
Tornado touched down no more that a few minutes before I would have driven straight through it. A couple buildings were completely destroyed. The crazy thing is that the damage was extremely localized - you can see in the picture that street signs a few hundred feet away from the building are undamaged.
Hopefully no one was injured, but from the looks of things it would be hard to imagine that’s the case.
I had Fiber internet and TV for a year and was not impressed at all. Internet speeds were not noticeably faster and TV generally sucked (specifically, the hardware was very shitty). Would not recommend.
I suspect it’s gonna be a little like Shawn Watson pivoting to a hurry up offense before the 2016 season. Coaches who have done things a certain way for 30 years rarely change much (Saban is the exception).
Is USC really so competitive that you need to pay $500k to get your daughter in? I figured being the daughter of a relatively famous actress would be enough on its own.
I’m starting to think that Whittington is going to be a difference maker this year. We haven’t had a great receiving RB in quite a while but it sounds like he has the skill set.
It’s amazing that the AAF seemed to be the most professionally run “minor league” ever with a pretty decent chance of success and didn’t even make through their first season.
This is the kind of series that probably almost no one outside of alumni / super fans watched and is very unlikely to be remembered for long. But had one or two of these games gone the other way they could have derailed the season. I’m really happy we pulled all three out in the end. The psychological benefit of a series sweep, quality of opponent be damned, is exactly what we needed after the heartbreakers at TCU and the letdown vs Incarnate Word. Let’s go get a W on Tuesday and keep winning series in the Big XII.
Went to the new Truth BBQ in Heights Blvd in Houston today. Didn’t get there until around 2:30 so they were already sold out of a lot of the meats. Ended up getting chopped brisket (sliced wasn’t available), a regular sausage link, and the cutter threw in the last spicy link for free. Sides were cole slaw and tater tot casserole.
Everything on the plate was incredible. Homemade pickles, pickled onions and jalapeños were a perfect compliment. They have a traditional BBQ sauce as well as a mustard-based available. Both were good.
The prices were reasonable as well. $16.99 for the two-meat plate. I’ll definitely be back.
