  1. It's easy to think it's just about going after Americans, but Noem and Trump do not think very far down the road. I would not be surprised if it's about shutting down civilian monitoring of ICE/etc. operations with drones in the here and now, like somebody at ICE or whatever realized that even if they can intimidate civilians to stay back a block or two indoors, or if they conduct their raids outside of view of a lot of people, there will still be people with $200 4K drones potentially monitoring them. With a cheap drone, you can see and monitor a lot of stuff, and you can keep people easily informed. You can follow those agents from their hotels to wherever they show up, and you can get a birds-eye view of things that may show things people on the ground don't see. They are scared of losing control of the narrative - that is why they lie so hard and so often.
  2. Yeah, all of these people are loyal (or pretend to be) to Trump. When he's gone, they'll turn on each like nobody's business, because none of them want to see any of the others try to take over MAGA, only themselves. Candace Ownes versus Erika Kirk will have nothing on the infighting amongst the Trump lieutenants, but it'll be the same shit - fighting for Trump's scraps.
  3. He didn't forget. He's gaslighting. If the Supreme Court strikes down the tariff stuff (which he was very clearly shitting breaks over earlier today) there won't be any $2,000 payoffs to MAGA, so now he's got to act like he never promised them.
  4. We are going to see a lot more shit like this as the heat ramps up over the ICE stuff, as they get more pressure on the Epstein files (read what Massie filed recently), the Greenland stuff, the other military adventures, etc.
  5. The law kicks in later in May, well after the primaries. His time to stop that law was earlier last year. And the idea of him fully funding Democrats is amusing at this point, since he would be contributing to the Rs losing Congress. I don't think Trump or the Congressional Rs would be thrilled about that. Unfortunately for him, a lot of the olds are constantly passing around dire warnings about AI being used to imitate people over the phone to scam the elders or make them think a loved one was kidnapped (I shit you not) and nowadays to make undressed photos of them and their family. I don't even bother to fact-check and argue any of the stuff my older relatives are tossing around, it's just too much and too crazy. No, he's the perfect target for a lot of politicians here and abroad (and abroad, twitter might be banned in Indonesia, parts of Europe, etc., and that's just within the past few days that it's being discussed).

  7. Reduces Russia’s exports/revenue, so yes?
  8. Trump says Iran “wants to negotiate”.
  9. Meta names former Trump advisor Dina Powell McCormick as president, vice chair Prior to joining Meta, Powell McCormick served as deputy national security advisor to President Donald Trump, and she served under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in President George W. Bush’s administration. Powell McCormick marks the second former member of the Trump administration that Meta has hired in recent weeks. The company said earlier this month that it has hired a new chief legal officer, Curtis Joseph Mahoney, who previously served as a deputy U.S. trade representative during Trump’s first term. “Congratulations to DINA POWELL MCCORMICK, WHO HAS JUST BEEN NAMED THE NEW PRESIDENT OF META. A great choice by Mark Z!!! She is a fantastic, and very talented, person, who served the Trump Administration with strength and distinction!,” Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Monday.
  10. Stock market is down a bit. Keep it coming Donnie, people love to see the stock market drop. Republican Sen. Thom Tillis vows to block Trump's Fed nominees following Powell probe Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) said he will block any Trump Fed appointees, including for chair, in light of revelations that the Justice Department is investigating Jerome Powell for potential perjury charges. That position substantially complicates the road to replacing Powell, whose term as chair expires in May. While Powell’s term as chair ends in May, he can stay on as governor until 2028. He has not indicated yet whether he will do so. President Donald Trump will face an important obstacle — from within his own party — as he seeks to replace Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) said Sunday he will block any Trump appointees to the central bank, including for the new chair, in light of revelations over the weekend that the Justice Department is investigating Powell for potential perjury charges. “If there were any remaining doubt whether advisers within the Trump Administration are actively pushing to end the independence of the Federal Reserve, there should now be none. It is now the independence and credibility of the Department of Justice that are in question,” Tillis said in a statement. “I will oppose the confirmation of any nominee for the Fed — including the upcoming Fed Chair vacancy — until this legal matter is fully resolved,” he added. That position substantially complicates the road to replacing Powell, whose term as chair expires in May. The banking committee, of which Tillis is a member, has 13 Republicans and 11 Democrats, so even one defection sets up a stalemate. Tillis usually supports Trump but occasionally has broken with the president. For instance, he was one of just two GOP senators to vote against the One Big Beautiful Bill spending package last year. Powell’s position isn’t the only one at stake. Stephen Miran’s term as governor ends in January, and there has been chatter about potential retirements, particularly Vice Chair Philip Jefferson. However, news that the office of U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, a Trump confidant and former Fox News host, is investigating Powell for perjury clouds the situation. Powell on Sunday released a statement acknowledging the investigation and alleging it is a pretext for giving Trump power over the Fed.
  11. Putin going to threaten London with a nuclear cleansing for the ....*checks notes*....10 time in 2 years.
  12. I don't really care where they come from, but I got a chuckle out of picking up a couple of top players out of Alabama (or that were headed to Alabama). This year is looking pretty damn good.
  13. This needs to be shoved in the face of all of those MAGA types who claim to be Christian and ask them if this is what Jesus would do. They'll try to justify it because most of them aren't really Christians. They can call themselves Christian, just like I can call myself a lottery winner even if I don't buy a fucking lottery ticket.
  14. They are down a bit in after-hours trading. Here's hoping they tank tomorrow and Trump loses his shit again.
  15. Greenland...
  16. Looking up people that Bob Weir played with and came across this shot of Alphonso Johnson. Just an absolute perfect photo. File:Alphonso Johnson.jpg - Wikimedia Commons (larger/full size version here)
  17. Oh, I hope he challenges the law; he was plenty mad when it passed.
  18. I put it at a decent chance that it's some grifter behind Ross's gofundme, but even if it's not, it's a good reminder that Ross won't be living a normal life for a very long time. His boys had to show up in masks to move his shit somewhere else. And you can bet that unless he moves to some remote shithole in North Dakota or Montana, he will get outted again and have to move again.
  19. Damn, dudes were willing to mix it up with cops to try and get at the driver
  20. Those of you with school-aged kids, you need to get them on the bandwagon, I know it's late at night, but run this by them tomorrow morning.
  21. Man I was all when I saw the thread title But this dude was keeping fucking body parts and not jewelry or things place in the coffins with the dead.
  22. Thiel and the datacenter/AI boys all want those minerals. His boy is at Trump's side, so why not get them cheap?
