Hey so like it was one thing for him to make a passing comment about this, but how in the world is this a multi-month talking point? How can anyone care this much about fucking airport attire?
I think there's been a lot of hyperbole around Flood, but it is abundantly clear that he failed the portal in ways that no other coach on staff did. That alone is a fireable offense.
The good news is that he has announced that this will be his last term in congress. The bad news is that he is going to be succeeded by his twin brother.
Doubt it matters because nothing matters anymore, but the images of that little boy really seem to have broken out of “political social media” and into the mainstream conversation.
16% of US households contributed to an IRA in 2023. 14% have (or plan to have) a 529 account. Thinking the Trump accounts will have a similar effect to literal checks in the mail highlights the bubble that most of us (and those currently in charge of the country) live in. You are not wrong that the overall financial benefit might be similar, but the view that the AVERAGE citizen will celebrate Trump's generosity similarly is very misguided.
Not only are they rationalizing it, most of them will be in church on Sunday convinced that they are living a life that will get them VIP passes into heaven.
There’s obviously a long list, but one of the little things that annoys me more than it should is when you can tell someone made a comment or joke that Trump liked, and he repeats it OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Like the “boat landed there 500 years ago” or “their only defense is two dog sleds.” Just an unbelievably simple and stupid man.
There is nothing the man could do at this point to change the opinion of those who still support him. They will still support every single thing he does, and then one day - years from now - when it is no longer politically important to do so, they will deny that they supported him. You are getting your hopes up for an event that will never occur.
