My wife and youngest are at the farm a couple of days early to do some chores prior to the family Thanksgiving brouhaha-ha-ha. Excitement ensued. 4'6", twelve rattles.
  2. So here's the thing. I am so saddened and weary by the state of Longhorn football. I don't know the problem, I don't know the answers. I am hopeful that CDC can right the ship in my remaining years. The Cowboys, though-I don't give a shit any more. They are not interested in winning, so why should I be? When Jerry is dead and gone, assuming I outlive him, maybe I'll be a fan again.
  3. You sure it wasn't her half brother? I mean, Oklahoma.
  4. https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/08/us/oldest-living-couple-trnd/index.html A husband and wife in Texas are officially the oldest living couple in the world. With a combined age of 211 years, one couple in Austin, Texas, has been named the oldest living couple in the world, according to Guinness World Records. John Henderson is 106 and his wife, Charlotte, is 105. On December 15, they will celebrate 80 years of marriage. The two met in class at The University of Texas in 1934. Charlotte was studying to become a teacher, while John was a guard for the football team. They married in 1939 during the Great Depression and spent just $7 on the hotel room for their honeymoon. In fact, John is also the oldest living former UT football player. For the past 84 years, he's held a tradition of attending at least one Longhorn football game each year. Both are still very healthy, and John exercises every day. Ten years ago, the two moved into the Longhorn Village, a senior living community associated with a University of Texas alumni group. Hook 'Em! So what's the secret to a long life and happy marriage after all? Live life in moderation and be cordial to your spouse, John said.

I'm mildly surprised that aggy didn't creep in. Quality losses and all.
  8. To quote Ben Crenshaw:"I've got a funny feeling about this". Texas in a runaway. Of course, I'm not a gambler.

I took a quick little jog around the new park today. I came across three of these little beauties on my trip. I haven't seen one since my teen years, and today I came across three over the course of two miles. Breeding season, I guess. Just glad they weren't copperheads.

The neighbor died a few years ago. His granary is about a hundred yards from my place. It’s full of rotting feed. His rats spill over to my barn. Snakes line up for an easy meal. The place is on the market if you’re interested

The terrain isn't the only thing that's flat in Lubbock.

That's our old family farmstead near Graham. We have been overrun the last few years. These guys had crawled in to the rat trap next to the barn.

  20. Just another clinical ho-hum beatdown by Alabama.
  21. Hey that was Oliver White on that Yeti commercial. Good on Yeti for throwing a few bucks his way after Dorian wiped out his lodge.
