  1. Desoto now closer to 5AD2 than 6A. Anderson and McCallum back to being District Foes. Westlake over Bowie pushing both Westlake and LT to be the presumptive 6AD1 teams
  2. Holy fuck to the granny plate, I think mine had the same ones.
  3. I find Arbol chilis primarily add heat vs flavor. My partner used white pepper for heat before she met me. (Native New Englander) I use cayenne on the side for a lot of things.
  4. Suadero Tacos with chili-umami oil. Got the real suadero meat from poco loco supermercado. Confit, crisp up, toss in oil, and dress. Yeah, it’s a low carb flour tortilla, idgaf, very tasty with homemade escabeche, onion, cilantro, cotija, and roasted tomato salsa.
  5. Looks good. I have an 8oz bag of sweet Hungarian paprika on the way to make some goulash over the holidays.
  6. Bought tickets for Dec. 20 at Jerryworld. Masshole Jr and I will watch the whole day. (Or until he says no more) Hoping to see SOC vs. Richmond Randle.
  7. When I use whole chuck, I brown about 1/3 of it very well to develop the Maillard flavor and then put the other 2/3 in with the liquid. It was either Kenji or Alton Brown who mentioned that the browned meat tightens more and doesn't get as tender in a braise.
  8. why not both.gif
  9. I'll be at Dripping Springs - Vandegrift. Drip won big in week 1, but I'm sure this one will be closer. Vandegrift has much more playoff experience.
  10. Drip easy over Medina Valley and the Slot T. Snek up next! (either a viper or rattler)
  11. Vitamix on sale for $299 on Amazon right now. Worth it? Anyone have a vita-knockoff from Amazon?
  12. I'm adventurous enough to eat cow head at some dude I've never met from the internet's house.
  13. Making tamale dressing and had extra cornbread. Cornbread grilled cheese:
  14. @UpperWestside Lampasas, Brownwood, Stephenville, and Burner sweep Bi-district!
  15. District 12-5AD1 is 3-0 with wins over Angleton and LaPorte. Anderson vs Friendswood to get the sweep.
  16. Yeah, was great to see Cooper Reid catch a long TD on his last play at Tiger Stadium. Rematch with Harlan up next. Hope to get revenge on last year's loss.
  17. Drip 14-7 over Vosta Ridge at half. vista dominating though.
  18. Masshole Jr. and I will be at Drip vs. Vista Ridge on Thursday and at all 3 Championship games on 12/20.
  19. According to the horrible Westlake homer announcer, Drip should have had 2-3 penalties called against them on every offensive play. He’s Stoopsian in his announcing.
  20. I'll make it if it's at your place. Me and my lady and maybe a couple of friends that live nearby.
  21. Yeah that's a tough age for advanced readers. I'll check with my daughter about what she liked. Look up Jaclyn Moriarty's Kingdom's and Empires series. It'll be an easy read for her, but they're a really fun 5 book series that are loosely connected. Reading them in order makes for some wonderful reveals; I read them out loud to my kids and there were often shrieks of joy heard throughout the house at those parts.
  22. Trout under the lights were thick: Made some crudo, lime, salt, jalapeño, olive oil, salt, parsley:
  23. I used ChatGPT a bunch for prep work. For each job I would start a separate conversation so when an interview came up I could find everything pretty easily. By the end, my resume was pretty on point for all of the job reqs to which I applied. For interviews, I would write down my versions of the ai output in a notebook so I wouldn't be scrolling around or typing during an interview. Some sample prompts off the top of my head: Company Research: (I was pretty much exclusively applying to B2B SaaS/Tech companies) "Tell me about [Company Name]" "Who owns..." "Clarify the product lines" "Who are the key competitors" "What are the ARR estimates by product line." "Where does the product land in Gartner Magic Quadrant" Resume tweaking: "Look at this job req: [paste req] and let me know how to best format my resume to match: [paste resume text]" "Is this resume ATS optimized: [paste resume]" Interview Prep: "Give me 5 good questions for [HR/Hiring Manager Title/X-functional partner title]" "Give me 5 softball questions..." "What questions do you expect from..." "Give me 5 relevant STAR stories for..."
