NIL agent cautionary tale
FSU RB says he didn't want to leave FSU, but when the agent that his parents hired started texting other coaches pretending to be him soliciting a transfer, it got back to the FSU coaches and they sent him packing.
Weslaco/Harlingen is always a good time
If he starts, first game, think they'll open up the passing game or ease the freshman into it?
Weslaco will be interesting. Lots of starters back on defense, but losing some major offensive firepower, including little Eli. We'll have to see how the offense looks. My nephew will be a starting WR this year!
San Benito's schedule is WILD. 32-6A only has 5 teams, so their schedule has 6 non district games
PSJA North
At Austin Westlake
Laredo United (favorite to win their district)
UANL (a University in Nuevo Leon, Mexico)
At Weslaco (favorite to win their district and San Benito's only loss last year)
Carthage (neutral site)
"Lack of trophies" I think isn't the argument some people think it is without context.
If you want to win a recent league trophy in the big 5 leagues, you basically have to be the manager of either Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich (unless you are Xabi Alonso), PSG, or whatever Italian clubs (I don't know enough about Serie A to know who's good now other than Juventus is not as dominant as they were last decade). That's it. He won a league trophy at PSG. No one is winning any trophies at Espanyol or Southampton. He got Spurs damn close to league and UCL. And he only had one year at Chelsea. I think looking at the context of the teams he was with, trophies won is an almost impossible measure of success.

I wish they kept a list of each school's representatives. I'm using the Daily Texan list from the OP, which might not be completely accurate, but by my count right now, we're at 4 Gold, 5 Silver, and 3 Bronze
The NFL is really pushing Women's flag football as a sustainable sport. There are world championships (When México upset USA in 2022, the QB for Mexico signed a deal with Under Armor and starred in a Super Bowl commercial), and it's coming to the 2028 Olympics
Out of curiosity, what was Worthy's 100m PR?
EDIT: Found it myself.
"As a sophomore in high school, Worthy ran wind-legal personal-best time of 10.65 in the 100-meters"

My sophomore spring was when Coach Tony V got hired in Weslaco. In our situation, Spring ball was extremely important. We were transitioning from an attempted shotgun, spread, no huddle, signal in the plays offense to Coach Tony's Slot T. Talk about two different ends of the spectrum. Anyway, we absolutely needed Spring ball that year to just learn the basics and terminology of the new offense.
My Godsister is an athletic trainer at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston and she was selected to cover the skateboarding team. She's was with them at the last world championships and now she's in Paris with the team!
