The Pelicans getting all the ping pong balls to draft Zion after giving up AD to the league's money maker has always made me suspicious that the draft lottery is rigged, at least when they want it to be.
And somebody said the refs in the NBA have gotten better? Uhh, no fucking way. They continue to be arbitrary and inconsistent and at times just outright incompetent. There is one female ref in particular who makes me just turn a game off if she's working it. (And not because of that, she could get it actually.)
I think the frustrating thing is that he's not actually dumb. He just willfully chooses to embrace the stupidest things. He's dumb like Stockton, not dumb like Malone.
Good on Mitchell for not shying away from calling Brooks out in the post-game interview. That was seriously uncalled for, 100% intentional, and 100% bullshit that should result in a suspension for Brooks.
And I really want to like Ja, but him crying that the NBA hates the Grizzlies for some reason is such nonsense. This kind of shit follows the Grizzlies because of Brooks and the shit he starts, not because the league is out to get them. Just play ball and shut TF up.
Just wanted to pop in and say I too prefer chain link fences. Wood fences look great for about 5 years max. Chain link fence + honeysuckle == lifetime of great fence.
The absolute worst thing about the NBA right now is the fucking obtrusive, obnoxious, and pointless DraftKings ads in the middle of the gotdamn action where Jalen Rose and Kendrick Perkins get to say some random bullshit.
I think this has been an epic season so far. If you like basketball you're missing out. I've seen complaints about lack of defense but I think that really just underestimates how phenomenally skilled these guys have gotten. You have 7 footers every day handling the ball, pulling up from deep on step backs, and directing the offense. The focus on the 3 ball and the deep range of players these days means more open space for cutters so the game is a lot more interesting than the early 2000s Iverson/Kobe version of boring iso after iso.
I would argue that not one has forced the team to pay him that much and that valuing financial security is hardly a damnable trait. Wouldn't we all rather be obscenely wealthy? The league sets a max salary and multiple players every year get max contracts. At least Dame is worthy of it. He's rarely injured and he brings it every game. It's on the team to build a roster too win rings not him.
Disagree. Dame plays ball, is a good teammate, and is never in the headlines for the wrong shit. Can't be mad at that. And it's not like Portland has sucked with him. They've never been a threat to win it all but they've won a lot of games because of him.
You point to Klay as someone more worthy of respect, but when has Klay ever had to be THE GUY carrying the franchise? When has Dame ever had Steph next to him? Or even Klay?
You're not wrong but you're not right either. A system that favors kids with parents willing and able to assist in the process is not a fair way to evaluate the students individually.
That's not true. Some parents are going to be too busy or too dumb to fuck with this shit and some parents are going to tell their kids to figure it out. I've got a senior in high school right now and last year was the first time I helped her figure out any math homework. Determining whether that's b/c I'm busy, dumb, or an asshole is an exercise left to the reader.
Shannon Sharpe is 54 years old and has CTE. He ain't doing shit. Yeah, basketball dudes don't like to fight, but neither do sane 54 year olds. He keep fucking with Steven Adams and he's going to understand the difference between yapping at Skip Bayless and yapping at a Dothraki.
When did Sengun fanboying become a thing? I'll admit I haven't watched a ton of Rockets games this year b/c they're not fun to watch, but what's up with anointing Sengun the savior?
