Lol "forced to resign" but was able to withdraw it. Yes, everything points to this dipshit wanting to grift from a GoFundMe and cash in on the right wing rage machine.
I only now realized that @gernblansten said it was ridiculous to bring up Rosa Parks in this situation. Holy shit. Dude, the government is currently openly and blatantly violating people's rights and they're doing it violently. They are detaining people, disappearing people, and murdering people. The problem isn't that the civil rights movement isn't a comparable situation, the problem is that it's the exact situation we're headed for if people don't do something but it makes you uncomfortable to think maybe you live in dark times. Sorry, man, you do. And if people like you don't figure it out then it will only get worse.
Correct, the problem you're having is that you haven't accepted that it doesn't matter when it comes to ICE. That was neither my choice nor the arsonist's choice, but that doesn't change the truth. You know it, you just haven't accepted it.
But that's the disconnect; it's not about being right, it's about winning. The administration has essentially declared war on the populace and they are completely ignoring the law. Respecting the rule of law and always following it sounds great when the law is being respected by everyone. When one side is ignoring it and killing people you will eventually get to the point where the victim's side always following the law will only result in more victims with zero consequences for the aggressors. Dropping atomic bombs on Japanese cities was a horrible, horrible thing to do. But it wasn't about being good or respecting normal protocols, it was about winning. When an aggressor has killed your people and shown no respect for norms, handcuffing yourself in your response tends not to work in the long run. Edited to add I'm basically saying what @Tuco said and there are countless examples. Rosa Parks committed a crime. The Boston Tea Party was a crime, hell the Declaration of Independence itself was a crime. Nelson Mandela committed crimes. Saying that "arson is still a crime" may be the comfortable thing to say but is an extremely superficial analysis.
This is what @Brisketexan has been talking about, though. When you decide the rule of law no longer applies, guess what? At some point the other side will agree with you. The Trump administration is blatantly ignoring the law. This woman did the same for a just cause. If I'm on that jury there will never be a unanimous guilty verdict and I would let the rest of the jury know as soon as we sat down.
Her face looked genuinely shocked at herself to me. Obviously the word is in there but at our age the word is definitely in there. She was trying to say fart knocker and it came out. Not excusing her but I would not be surprised if she grew up with someone who said that word and her brain just threw it in there.
Rand Paul finally standing up and saying something makes me wonder if Ron Paul is dying and told his son he better start standing up for what's right even if only a little bit. I disagree with them on a ton of shit but if you're going to claim to be about small government you can't be silent about this ICE shit.
Just got this game for Christmas for myself (along with my wheel/pedals setup) and am enjoying it a bunch. Of course right now I'm just grinding for credits with the AFK Honda Beat trick which is dumb but whatever.
So we're getting rid of a bunch of workers who aren't reported because they're undocumented, which should theoretically create a market where unemployed legal residents and citizens who are reported now have more jobs available to find. So reported unemployment would only possibly go down as the undocumented were never reported as employed and now there are jobs for some of the previously reported unemployed workers to take. But that's why the jobs report will look bad because reasons. Have to hand it to them, they realized that Fox viewers will really believe anything they're told to believe.
Big winner in that to me is the videographer. If the background info is correct (and I have no reason right now to believe that it's not), the guy taking the video saw the guy talking shit, warned him he better stop, let the guy he was harassing beat the shit out of him, then snapped that guy out of it once he started the head kicks. American of the Day, imo.
These people are so stupid they live in a world where "I refuse to expand my horizons" is a badge of honor. They don't want to learn and they think wanting to learn about new perspectives, cultures, and ideas is a bad thing. They are happy to be ignorant, in fact it's their preferred state.
Eh I'm as forgiving as anyone for when fighting words lead to getting your ass whooped, but the head kicks when he was on the ground might be an issue. But overall, as Brisket likes to say, a good defense to plant in a jury's head is "did the other guy deserve to get his ass beat and was my client the right person to do it?" Answer to both in this case is a resounding yes so I would have no issue with a not guilty verdict.
While I agree with @RomaVicta in theory, that it's immature, his implication that it's something only immature men do is extremely off base. Many women make comments constantly about the attractiveness of famous men and politicians, too, even when that has nothing to do with the trade they're plying.
There was an election in 2020. Seems like you may have missed it. The only evidence we have of Donald Trump running for reelection versus election is him getting his ass kicked. And that was after 4 years of regular insanity, not the shit they're doing now.
